Does anyone else feel like the software of the Lightning is not improving with up dates? Feels to me like we are going backwards.
Some things have definitely improved. You have a 22, so you should remember the lack of a camera icon and the big knob‘s only function was volume. Unless your dealer applied them before you got your truck. Tesla plug & charge was also a good one. PAAK used to work about 50% of the time. I’m sure there are other examples.

We (myself included) tend to focus on the negatives.

Well I am probably just sour because my home integration system worked for 2 out of 20 months that I have owned it and with the latest software update it isn't functioning. But hey you are right I can adjust my seat temp and cabin temp with a knob, and I don't have to carry my key fob any more as long as I remember my door code and passcode for starting the truck when phone as a key works, which it mostly does.

So, some things are better.

Update: Ford Dealer checked truck outs sure enough, the module that controls the dates was affected by the latest update. Screwed all dates and times up so I can’t schedule charging, schedule updates, etc. Supposedly Ford is working on an update. Meanwhile, I can’t use the Ford App to schedule charging, preconditioning is hit or miss, and updates can come and go as they please, despite the truck showing a schedule. Another update ford apparently did not check out, focused on kareoke, before sending.

Lol, just looking forward to when the app actually knows my vehicle is charging. I assume eventually, it'll be like obamacare, and they'll realize, hey, this isn't working, and they actually need to hire professional developers...

But hey, when the bar is this low, you get excited when you can turn charging off and on from the app successfully more than 50% of the time!

In a month or two, we'll be adding the Victron EVSE to our system, and like most things Victron, it will become seamless, and I doubt I'll look at FordPass but every now and again from then on.

We have two Wallboxes that charge every night. Their application is seamless. Ford should get a clue. I feel they have “just outta school” techies, who know nothing, but want everything, including the week off for personal time because they worked so hard. Same here at work. Want the pay, but don’t want to work. Then, it’s half-assed, and no back check.

Soon Ford will be knocked off their best-selling platform, and will have no one to blame but themselves. After MANY dozen Fords in my garage, I’ll be hurt, but sick of paying high prices for crap. The posters, signs, and memorabilia I have will be trash. Farley better stop tooling around in his Chinese rental and wake up and WORK. He’s sending alot of poor messages and the Company is on the fritz.

Dunno, we have a LOT of young developers that produce top notch work, and when something isn't working, we circle the wagons until it does. We had a CFO that prioritized resources to bringing a lot of development in-house, and it's paid dividends ever since. I imagine Ford is getting what they have paid for.

The majority of my comments are just out of sheer frustration. I have supported Ford for over 40 years. I have bought a ton of trucks. My son has followed suit, as well. We both own Lightnings now and we share the same sentiment…. IF someone told us we had to drive something different, what would we drive? The Lightning’s ARE that nice and fun. However, frankly, neither of us know what we would drive. We want so hard to believe in Ford and that they will fix these issues, but we both got rid of 2023 STX trucks because they were pure garbage. Eight and nine months of ownership with no Goal in sight to fix electrical gremlins and program issues. It’s really sad. I don’t like anything else that’s out there, and if I had to go by an old truck and rebuild it, the choices out there are pretty slim as well. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope that they’ll get it together sometime soon.

I hear ya. I just sold my 2015 S550, and my G/F's family, has almost exclusively bought Ford products for 60+ years. We sold our 2019 F150 before we knew it was going to be so long for our reservation for the Lightning, and ended up buying both a Powerboost and a Mach-E, both of which were good vehicles for us. The family has an Edge, and two Mach-E's still.

We like the Lightning, and want Ford to succeed, as it's, in my estimation, part of what will keep this country succeeding, but if they can't get on top of the software needed to run these, Ford simply won't make it. Nor will any other North American producer not making commodity EV's. The F150 is a commodity, and the Lightning will need to be as well, for them to survive. For that, the software needs to work, so Ford needs to put $$$ into it.

They DO need to get with the program. SOOOOO MUCH negative press on the Lightning from the ill informed media. So many people ask me and my son questions, and just can’t believe what we tell them as actual users/owners. I’m ALWAYS a Ford proponent. Even being a 3.0L Stroke diesel owner before. Tons of questions and me providing answers to dispel the negativity and bad/incorrect press.
From what I’ve heard, Ford HAS to keep the Lightning and MachE up and selling to meet CAFE requirements/limits in order to keep selling their cash cow Superduty guzzlers. As it stands, it sounds like GM may have to reduce heavy duty truck sales unless they up their game.
Frankly, I’m still a BIG Lightning proponent. I want it to succeed. I’m just feeling like us Lightning adopters are hanging on a limb all alone. Is it gonna break, or will Ford throw us a line?
