I called Ford Marketing to ask about the email. They said it was a mistake and should have only gone to Mavrick orders. She assured me that we were on schedule with production.

I just received this email today regarding my Platinum order placed on 2/14/22. I don't think this blast pertains to the March email, but it is the exact same one nonetheless. I've noticed this email was received today as well on other forums for F-150 vehicles. Has anyone received this email today as well?

Here's a new email I received from Ford today (4/7/22):

SUBJECT: A change in your 2022 F-150 XLT order.
AN IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT YOUR ORDER
Thanks again for placing your 2022 F-150 XLT order. While we’ve been busy working to get your new vehicle into production, we’ve run into a few delays.
Sometimes certain features or options can lengthen the time before a vehicle is scheduled for production.
We know there’s a lot of anticipation when it comes to getting into a new vehicle, so we’ll make sure to keep you updated. Once your vehicle is ready to move into the production schedule, you’ll be hearing from us again.

This is the first I've heard from Ford since my order was confirmed. Obviously this is disappointing -- mostly because it doesn't actually give me any information. Damn truck teasers!

FYI: I ordered an XLT 301A 5.0v8 SCREW FX4 157"wb on Feb. 18, 2022. No VIN yet, needless to say.

FYI, I received this same email on 3/18. Then, on 3/29 I received the email with my Vin number and scheduled production week of 5/2. My order on the website showed build week of 5/2 the entire time ever since they were first posted many weeks ago. Don't know if that means anything or not to you but thought the info may be helpful.

I also received this email in March and about a week or so later I got a build date for my F150 Lightning of 5/2. The last time it was sent out it was only supposed to go to Maverick orders. So this is likely a mistake again because Mach E users have received this same email as well.

I just spoke to my dealer and they said that due to the Towing Package and the Bed Liner that my order has been delayed to an unknown time. I kept mine as is though.

I still have the voicemail they left too.

I got a call from my dealer on Friday and he was calling his Lightning orders to tell them that Ford is saying the spray-in bed liner was causing delays. He recommended dropping that and getting Line-X locally. Didn't say anything about tow package though. I was on the fence between factory and aftermarket bed liner so that was an easy drop.

The chips that go in that spray in liner must be giving em all kinds of fits ! ? Seriously, how can they let a spray in liner get this so out of whack they can't deliver it.

With sales managers you never know if it's good information or they are pulling out all the stops to make sure the vehicles come in so they can book the sale. They know bedliners have caused delays in the past, so call everyone with a bedliner on their order and tell them they are causing delays to hedge bets in case they do cause another delay. I wouldn't put this kind of thing past a sales manager for a second.

The spray in bedliner is always delayed. I ordered my 21 F150 last year and it was delayed for 3 weeks because of it. One company does all the spray in bedliner for Ford. So it takes awhile to get through to all of them. I ordered my Lightning without it so that I can just get it done locally instead.

I received the delay email March 18 then 11 days later received email about scheduled for production with VIN included. No change in production date week of 5/9. Wave 2 order Lariat ER with spray in bed liner and weather mats.

If the bed liner truly were the single point of delay Ford should tell customers and give them the option to remove it via direct email. I bet there's many more items and that's just one urban legend that keeps getting repeated.
