It’s not a Tesla, was never meant to be easy.

Haven’t used mine yet.

Just charge at home once a week. LOL!

You beat me to it, so I'll throw a twist on it.
Did you say In-n-out. Is that a double double🍔.
Fun fact: in Canada a double double is a coffee. Two cream, two sugar.

Slightly more on topic... with some of these adapters I've heard you have to push really really hard, like all your weight against the ground, to get the NACS side locked into the adapter properly until it clicks. Especially when they're new.

Thanks all for sharing your experiences. The Tesla side goes in easily. It’s the CCS side that’s hard to push in even with the Tesla side plugged in first.

I don’t plan on using it much so I guess I can live with it. Will just be careful when using.

It must vary, I find the Tesla adapter pretty easy to use. A little bit stiff pulling the Tesla cable out of the adapter but not really that difficult

Have both Ford and A2Z, Ford fits easily with zero force needed vs A2Z is snug (not in force needed but that micron tighter).

When 1st got Ford thought maybe too lose in seating but since then used 50+ times its my go to of the 2.

Suggest take a look inside port itself if any defects where might be binding - worst case see where its putting "scratches" on plastic and some light sandpaper or dry silicon spray?

Hi,

Charge at a telsa supercharger with the ford supplied adapter for the first time last weekend. I had a very difficult time getting the adapter to lock. I had to push really hard, so hard that the charging port was flexing. The latch didn’t catch until the internal lock engaged.

Do others have this issue? Am I doing something wrong?

thanks.
Not sure if this is the issue, but may be of interest anyway.

The Lectron made ones now being supplied by Ford have pin that locks the adapter to the Tesla plug when the adapter is plugged into the CCS1 socket on the Lightning, if I understand it correctly. So you can't remove the Tesla plug from the adapter if it is plugged into the Lightning. See the video:

from using mine just over the last few days, I'll say that I have established a 'procedure' to handle the task:

Plugging in:
A) start with plugging the ADAPTER into the charge port first
B) while plugging in the NACS from Tesla, HOLD down the front 'latch' while you do, and wiggle the NACS slightly while pushing it in... to a CLICK. You'll KNOW you've succeeded because the charge port OVAL will then light up...
C) PLUG-N-CHARGE will do the rest, if you haven't already activated it via the Tesla APP

Unplugging...
A) Stop the charge by pressing the OVAL button
B) Push down the TOP button on the ADAPTER, and remove the WHOLE unit
C) Now, lastly, push down the FRONT button on the ADAPTER to release the NACS cable...

sometimes the Tesla unit does not 'yet' want the NACS cable to release, it sometimes takes a little pause before so...

I was under the impression that the instructions supplied with all the adapters say to plug the Tesla cable into the adapter first. But if this is working for you, then I guess it can't be too critical.
