Front plates not installed

When I bought my truck awhile back I didn’t notice that the place that my plates should be installed is not there. Do I suppose to bring it back to the dealers to get them to install it?

Yes, they have plate brackets, that are supposed to be mounted on trucks sold in markets where the front plate is required.

Texas requires front plates. A lot of people still go around without front plates. I got pulled over once for no front plate and had to pay an “administrative fee” and proved I put a front plate on my car.

At least Ford sells a license plate bracket for the Lightning. The car I got pulled over in wasn’t available with a license plate bracket. I had to drill holes right into the bumper to mount the license plate.

I hope the "new divide" isn't "Front Plate States (FPS)" vs "No Front Plate States (NFPS)". We're all Americans no matter how many "major critical differences" we have! Let us look with humility and understanding on our FPS or NFPS brothers and sisters.

Do they have signs that say no backing in? I’ve been in some garages that have that. I think it’s stupid. I back in everywhere. Always easier to back in and then drive forward out. Better visibility.

I live in NYS, where front plates are required. I don’t like front plates and don’t see why they are necessary for law enforcement or automatic toll collection. I think the only way to get the law changed would be mass civil disobedience. Overwhelm the DAs and courts.

How about making the first week of some month the nationwide NO FRONT PLATE week. Lots of publicity would be needed. Get all car clubs involved. Also tv and newspaper coverage and magazines like Car & Driver leading up to NFP WEEK or maybe it needs to be NFP MONTH. Look at how pot (a/k/a weed, herb) became legal most everywhere. Environmentalists should get involved too because of the waste of metal and increased wind resistance.

To get this started, lets pick the first week of (or the month of) July. Its a month of celebration of freedom and revolution.

I'm glad I was able to purchase and register my truck in a non front plate state. Even though I've moved since, I maintain my residency there which means I get to keep it. Not going to lie, I feel much smugness driving around California and having the front of my truck be clean. Plus Florida does fantastic custom plates, I got the Black Bear one since it only took a donation to the Wildlife Fish and Game department, who I used to do volunteer work for as a teen.
