Got the Call for the Dealer to order, but does not show on my web portal...?

Got the call from the dealer who said it was time to order, but upon logging in at the website, it doesn't show the order now button. However it shows this :

XXXX - it's time to order your new

2022 F-150 LIGHTNING


From XXXXX Ford XXXXX

No order button, Called dealer back and he said that's because it has to be done through the dealer.

Have an appointment for Tomorrow (in Western PA). Any suggessions greatly appreciated.

Oh, it only shows up through the backdoor link https://www.ford.com/buy/manage.html?reservationId=xxxx, and not the my account link.

The dealer will actually put your order into the system to be queued later for production, but you should still be able to build the truck online. In fact even though I had talked with my dealer earlier about my trim level and they knew what I wanted to order, they could not place it themselves. I had to follow the prompts on the order page to configure it myself or optionally work with my dealer.

Was the dealer sold since your original reservation was placed?
If so, that might be causing this glitch, there is a process for them to manually input your order in this situation.

I had a similar issue to this, and it took the regional sales person from Ford to get corporate to enable the build page for my pre-order reservation.

This took about a week to resolve.

The dealer can't submit a build without the build done from your pre-order account is my understanding.

Don't think the dealer was sold, they have the same name. The salesman did say I should have gotten the invite from ford

Thanks for that info, this maybe my situation too. Will update once I go to the dealer today.

Salesman took the order for a pro model and said I was all set. No deposit or anything. Upon further pondering and replies from other posters on other forums, I think it may have been an information gathering effort by the dealer to submit trim interest to Ford. I didn't want to put the salesman on the defensive and ask further, when he clearly made it sound like I was ordering the truck, and I should have gotten an invite from Ford as I was prioritized at the dealer.

Still baffles me why using the back door link gives me the above message, while logging into my account doesn't show any invite to order.

Apparently Ford had asked dealers to query reservaton holders on thier trim interest. Supposdly that is how I got a Wave 6 invite last month as I said Platinum (but ordered a Larait ER when I saw it was available). The Pro is/was not available so you may not get an invite.

I had to be negative but something very similar happened to me. Out of the blue I received a "its time to order" splash page. No button to order and NO email from ford. Logged out, logged back into website to make sure it was a fluke. I was getting ready for work at the time and didn't have time to investigate further.

At lunchtime I logged into Ford.com and the page was gone. Called dealer who was friendly but no help. Called Ford..first agent was clueless. Second call to Ford and was transferred to the Lightning team. Agent said I wasn't on the list to order and no way I should have gotten an invite. Ford called it a technical glitch. So here I sit still waiting. sigh.

Still a bit peeved Ford doesn't have their shit together better. Sending a false invite is not cool.
