Wanted to do some work in the school pickup line. Forgot my wife’s car key was in the shifter cubby. As the shifter was folding down I realized and hit the button again to cancel. It came back up most of the way but I don’t think fully.

now my whole shifter is unresponsive and I’m sitting here stuck. Any ideas would be appreciated

will probably never use the folding feature again!

Did you hit the button again to see if it would fold down (remove wife's key first). What have you tried?

Stow button unresponsive
Neutral button unresponsive
Emergency tow asks me to put it in neutral but shifter won’t move
Shifter button doesn’t do anything (normally you can feel the actuation)
Tried two pedals to the floor to put it in neutral, no luck
Power cycle a bunch of times in the process of trying things

If I had any tools I’d try disconnecting 12v but unfortunately I have nothing in this vehicle

Turn truck off and open door. Close door. Wait for screens to go dark. Power back on.

I went home and came back, it’s still stuck. Wish that worked!

Press brake and accelerator while the start button is flashing, and then put it in neutral with the button.

no luck with that one unfortunately. The roadside assist phone contact was hoping that would do it too

I…….. good idea!

Went back home again and came back with a wrench. Disconnecting 12v worked and now there’s always a wrench in my truck.

thanks for spending some time with me this afternoon in my time of despair haha

I appreciate this community 🍻

I was never a boy scout, but I do like to be prepared. I use the bin in the frunk to keep some ratchet straps, a tow strap, and some basic tools. They've come in handy more than a few times both for me as well as the people I have helped.

Although your issue with park has happened in the way you describe... you may have a "shift to park" issue. I'm not sure if there's a recall on that, but I just got my Lightning back after it would not go into park. I got towed back for two days but ao far no old or new issues.
