Yes, the cooling system is a...complex conglomeration of tubes, valves and compressor(s). So many possibilities for something to fail.
The max towing package adds a second compressor to the loops.

I just had the same failure this week, hope we are not starting a trend. Truck is in the shop now and itās going to take a week to fix. The failure notification in the app was

Illuminates when the system has detected a powertrain or a four-wheel drive fault.
What Should I Do?

They also found my shock absorbers were leaking so they are being replaced as well. (Didnāt specify how many or location)
My truck has a pretty sedate easy life with only 22k miles and in the dry 350 days of the year. Shocks failure is a bit

Update on above with conclusion.
I got the truck back after 8 days at the dealer.
The fault was High Voltage Battery Radiator Coolant Diverter Valve which needed to be replaced. I have attached all the wording in the image.
After the fix the couldn't get the truck to start so they needed to replace the 12v battery as well.
Unrelated was the replacement of one shock absorber on the front right as it was leaking (I thought you should always replace in pairs but they only did one).
Everything was fixed under warranty so no cost but the price on the work sheet is $10,966.38. The truck has only done 22k miles.
Finally they wanted me to get a wheel alignment which I posted about in the Hankook Tire thread. I declined as I don't need a wheel alignment. The uneven wear is a known Hankook AT2 tire issue.
I also got a software update to 10.1.1 which is quite something as I rarely get software updates. Still no Walk away locking or BC1.4 but at least something is dribbling through.

Pilfered from the Mach-e forum, this is actually their thermal management loop, we assume our Lightnings follow in the same concept, I haven't come across a pictorial for our truck yet.

I just initiated buyback with Ford. I got all my service paperwork together and in recalls and warranty fixes Iām now at a total of 45 days in the shop in a period of 25 months of ownership. It goes back again tomorrow so those days will climb for sure.
I love the truck when itās working but itās just too unreliable.
Iām hoping itās a 2022 problem and buying a 2024 will be a better ownership experience.

Itās back in for second occurrence of drive train malfunction less than 2 weeks after it was allegedly fixed.
The initiation of the buyback process was easy I just called Ford on (800) 392-3673 and told them I would like to start the process.
It doesnāt mean they will accept but at 45 days and counting itās well past the 30 day threshold in CA. On that basis it seems logical that they should accept but Iām not an expert by any means.

Diagnosis complete and this time it is battery module 1 failure.
My guess is this will be fixed and quickly followed up by battery module (..n) failure.
It will be at least 8 days in shop so my running total of days is shop will reach at least 53 in 25 month period of ownership.
