If you could go back in time to to the day before you decided to purchase your Lightning (with your present knowledge of today), what would you do?

Would you do exactly what you did?
Would you hold out for a better price down the line (or buy used)?
Would you purchase a different vehicle (and if so, what)?

Every day my kid sees a Cybertruck and just ogles it like its the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition... and its getting to me. ;)

I wouldn't change a thing. Love the Lariat options, got it at MSRP, and glad I saved $10k by not getting the extended range as I rarely go on long trips. LOVE THIS TRUCK!

I’m good with my purchase from February 2024. I would not buy the Chevy or cyber truck. The Chevy because of cost and the cyber truck, Elon.

If I totaled my truck today, I would go and buy another lightning. I also love my truck!

I ordered a 2021 ICE Lariat in March of 2021. Picked it up in June, and decided to lease it when it came in because I put in my reservation for the Lightning. If I could go back in time, I would have ordered a Platinum Powerboost and purchased it instead of lease, and not bought the Lightning.

I love my Lightning. The best F-150 I've owned, and it's my seventh. But financially, buying in 2021 and losing everything I paid for my lease, then paying top price for one of the early trucks, has left a bad taste in my mouth. I could have got the same truck, sans a few options, for a lot less when the cash was put on the hood.

I would have to think long and hard about buying it again. Not because of any twitch truck. But, I have issues with how FOMOCO has failed on their promises. BC 1.2 promised almost two years ago now and nothing. No reasons, no excuses, nothing! I won’t go into my personal experience with the Ford supplied adapter, but you already know what a cluster that promise has turned into.

I absolutely love driving the 2022 Lariat ER and it has, so far, been extremely reliable.

I bought later, April 2023 so I avoided the ridicules ’Market Adjustments’ so price was high but not terrible.

Unfortunately, hindsight is almost always 20/20! If they had maintained their “value” (of course you’re always going to have depreciation in a new vehicle) but if they had not started offering the the discounts to move product would your answer be different? I know that’s difficult because we cannot un-know what we already know.

I got a Pro ER Max tow at the end of Sept. If I had to do it all over, I would have spent the $ for a higher trim like Flash, Lariat, or a leftover '23 Platinum that my local dealer had for a really good deal but was still a bit too rich for me.

The two things that I really missed with the Pro was adaptive cruise/BlueCruise and the heated steering wheel that I had in my Mach-e that I traded for the Lightning. I added adaptive cruise based on the thread in this forum and a got a heated steering wheel cover that plugs in to the 12v socket that keeps my hands warm in the cold-cold days. Having both of those stock instead of after the fact would have been much nicer. The hands-free BlueCruise was also really nice and is unable to be added to the Pro.

All that said, I LOVE this truck even though it's a Pro and don't see it going away any time soon.

EDIT/addition:
The GOOD part of the Pro that I would not want to give up in a higher trim is the smaller screen and physical knob controls, as well as no glass roof.

Ideally, I'd love to be able to option a truck without being prisoner to specific "packages".

It's not really a value thing. It's a I wish I would have saved the $20k I wasted in a lease and bought the truck instead thing. The way I optioned my Lariat, I was only a couple of grand away from a Platinum Powerboost. The interest rates were way better, and the A-plan discount was huge on the ICE trucks compared to the Lightning.

EDIT: I also would have optioned my Powerboost without this stupid moonroof I was forced to take on the Lightning. Like I ordered my Lariat. Everytime I back out of my driveway, when I turn into the street, it creaks. I hate this stupid thing and would have gladly paid the same price for my truck without it.

New ‘23 Lariat ER purchased for a really good deal in March of ‘24. I’d do the same thing all over again. Cybertruck too expensive and not fully baked. All new EV pickups are expensive compared to the deal I got. No disappointment here. Love my truck.
