I have felt ear pressure while driving the Lightning, kind of like pressure buffeting except the windows are up. The first couple hundred miles were fine, but it has gotten gradually more uncomfortable over time. I tried driving with airpods in, and the result is the same so I suspect the issue is subsonic noise. In the past I experienced this to a much greater degree in some other EVs. My wife and friends do not feel it at all.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Just wanted to check in before selling the truck. Aside for this issue, the Lightning has met or exceeded every single one of my expectations!

I'm going deaf from loud motorcycles and direct wind on my ears through 40+ years of riding, so no, I don't hear or feel that effect from my Lightning.

Are you selling because of this phenomena?

I sometimes have this issue with my Model Y but my lightning has been very quiet. I am also very sensitive to that. Is it happening after a certain speed or it also happens during city driving as well? What trim do you have? do you have the panoramic sunroof? I wonder if its because of that? I dont have that option.

Go test drive another lightning from a dealer or post in your regional sub forum to see if anyone would let you ride in their lightning to see if this is unique to your truck or if it happens in all lightnings.

I personally have not experienced this issue.

Yes :(

I have tinnitus, I haven't experienced any spikes in the Lightning. Certain things can make it spike, so I'm very happy the truck isn't one of them.
I have T too. Unfortunately it's been causing spikes. The other day my ears felt raw after a long trip that I have made quite often over the past few years. Zero back pain though, which is a testament to the amazing ride quality.

Minor bumps in the road seem to contribute the most. My truck is an extended range model with the pano sunroof. The test that really sold me on the quiet interior of the Lightning was a standard range without sunroof.

That's a great idea. I plan to test a couple others. I also checked all of the the seals and pressure vents. No abnormalities found.

What is your tire pressure set to?

I'm sure you can tell the difference in wind and tires, but tires come to mind more so than anything else. Someone else asked about your tire pressure, adjust it up or down and see if you get any different sound. Double check each window and door, make sure you aren't missing some critical piece of gasket around one or the other.

Maybe even have someone else drive and see if they hear it and if you hear it from the passenger or rear seat.

Just some thoughts. I haven't heard anything like it with mine. It's pretty dang quiet.

I am not trying to be a wise-ass ... just hoping to help clarify the description when discussing it with technical folks. Subsonic refers to speeds less than the speed of sound. I think you are referring to sound below the range of human hearing, which is below 20 Hz. The unusual name for that range is infrasound or infrasonic. I have not had that issue, but I have experienced the extremely loud noise event covered in detail in F150 Gen14 and F150 Lightning threads (links attached below). The extremely loud static in my event also had a powerful underlying low frequency pulse. It is possible that these 2 issues are related, especially if you have a B&O audio system.

I don't imagine this is related, but you do know that the Lightning produces artificial engine noise, right? In Sport mode it's the loudest, and you can turn it off in settings (assuming it's the same as the Mach-E). I know the Platinum trim has it, I assume the Lariat does also.
