Seems there might be only 8 battery modules in 2025 Flash ER instead of the 9 modules in Lariat ER.

Also see that spare tire is an option now. Tire sealant is standard. Ughh.

A full size spare tire on a truck is not negotiable. Bad shit happens to trucks on job sites, tires get destroyed. I’m annoyed the spare on my 2024 Flash is marked “Temporary”.

I’m glad I bought the 2024 before they removed features.

With all of the nip and tuck on standard features, I have no regrets with my early 23, pre price cut, Lariat ER.

While not entirely improbable, I believe this is a cost cutting move. The usable capacity on the Mach-E Premium and Select Extended Range batteries are being reduced too, and are keeping their existing chemistries.

Not only that, the Marshall plant that will be producing LFP batteries with licensed CATL processes doesn't come online until 2026.

Why would they lower the kWh? I know you say cost cutting, but it doesn't make sense when you have other manufacturers possibly have more range due to a larger battery pack.

Unless, its the same pack, however they want to charge you a bit more for the extra amount. Not unlike what Tesla did.

I work for Ford. Everything lately at work revolves around cost cutting. The T3 Lightning has been delayed again. The 100% redesigned ICE F-150 is being pushed back another model year. Management is fixated on how their bonuses are being affected. Maintenance on machinery is being pushed out and delayed or skipped entirely. Headcount is constantly being examined. Overtime has been cut.

My only guess is cost cutting. Not saying that is it, but that is what I see.

It seems like the auto market and other markets are at a precipices of disaster. The next couple of years will be interesting.

Sounds like they want to make their books look better for the investors before the end of the year.

So in 2024 there was supposed to be a late-availability Platinum option called Platinum Black Package. It never materialized (along with the LFP battery for Pro/XLT). This Dark Elements Package looks to be another attempt. Has some of the same options:
