Keyboard fails to show up for Backup Passcode

Good thing I was at home and *just* wanted to try if it worked. The backup passcode is kinda useless if it doesn't work, no?

This happened to me as well. The UI is terribly slow and tapping it like that will just make it freeze. Try starting it with the backup code but only tap the screen once and wait. My keyboard took around 20 seconds one time.

Sync reset usually solves this and similar issues. Hold volume down and skip forward on the steering wheel until the screen turns blank and resets. I'm not sure if you can do a Sync reset if you also need to enter a backup pass code.

Same thing happened to me. I use PAAK exclusively, and have for 2.5 years. I’ve had to enter my passkey 3-4 times when my phone has died. You have to touch the screen once, and wait 30 seconds. It feels like an eternity when the panic that you’re stuck sets in. The keyboard always comes up eventually though.

Can confirm it’s very slow. A tap or two on the screen eventually wakes it up most times.

I also had keyboard unwilling to show up for a time. Called Ford, actually spoke to a tech who knew what she was talking about and guided me through the Sync reset. It has worked without fail since then.
