Good afternoon,
I am new to the F150 Lightning Forum. I bought a 2024 Lighting Flash late last year. After about one month of ownership, I was unable to charge at level 3 charging stations. This an issue due to my long commutes (250+ miles each way). I have tried numerous charging stations including TESLA. I am able to charge at level 2 charging stations including my Ford Home Charger and a 220 dryer connection at my place of work. My truck is currently at its third dealership service department. The first two claimed they were not able to replicate the issue and found no codes,(so they say), even though they only attempted to charge at a level 2 charger at the dealership. The third dealership took me at my word and attempted to charge my truck at the same Electrify America charging station I attempted to use prior to dropping it off. The tech brought his computer along in order to identify the codes. He concluded that there is an issue with fast charging port on the truck. Unfortunately, the part is on back order for at least a week and half. Can anyone relate to my experience?

Thanks,
acbarba

Sorry for your troubles @acbarba but this should be a relatively easy fix by dealer, albeit the waiting game sucks. Did you get to take the truck back with you for L2 charging at least?

I am new to Lightning but have had this issue with Tesla in the past. Typically its the charging port or the other end of that where it goes into the battery pack (contactor, maybe)? Where both AC and DC split/enter the pack.

I had a Mach-e (traded for the current Lightning) that stopped ALL charging, Level 1, 2, or 3. It ended up needing a charge port replacement. My part took 3 months to arrive and be replaced.

Thank you for the reassurance! I am able to use the L2 charging in the meanwhile.

Thank you for the reassurance! WOW!!! Three months? Sorry you had wait so long. I guess a week and half isn't too bad.

These are the types of things that keep me driving ICE on road trips.

I have had a few breakdowns with ICE trucks on road trips too.... While towing our travel trailer.... Far from home..... In the middle of nowhere.....

S💩💩t happens, doesn't matter what you're driving. Adapt and overcome.

Were you EVER able to L3 charge? Or has it been that way the entire month of your ownership?

If so, just like Heliian said, this is a known issue with the charging port - it happened to me as well when I first tried to L3 charge.

Take it back to the dealership.

FWIW, that is the only major hiccup I have had with my truck after 1.5 years of ownership....

Before my Ford wall charger was installed, I would use nothing but the L3 Charge Stations.
Oddly, they just stopped working.

Hmm, most of the actuator failures I heard about were right from the start - still probably the most likely culprit - but either way, good luck, and once your dealership gets it figured, circle back & let us know!
