The truck has been a joy to operate. I am always relaxed when I drive it.
Since I am on the second set of tires, switched to Michelin Defenders, I was expecting at least a 5% hit on my range but that has not materialized.
As far as the battery degradation, any loss is miniscule. I own a 4 year old MME EX which it came from the factory with 270 miles range. Haven’t seen that range when I charge it to 100% with my L2 chargers at home. It is always much higher by 10 to 20 miles, still to this date.
Back to the Lightning, when the truck was a year old and preparing it for my yearly camping trip to the coast pulling my travel trailer, overnight charging to 100%, yielded 335 miles of range.
You said you have seen 385 with your truck. I haven’t gotten near that number living in the SE were summers can get hot. I will wait for some warm weather in the 70s to try again the 100% charge at home. It will be interesting.
What is the farthest distance you have ever driven, after charging to 100%, without charging again?

A year ago I drove 300 miles. GOM showed 28 miles left on the battery as I pulled into my driveway.

Today was the day to try again to duplicate the increased range at 100% while charging at home.
If you remember, I was the one who posted that my 3 year old Lightning charged to 345 miles of range at 72deg outside temp.
Today I had almost identical temps, 68deg, and the charge reached 342 miles.

NIce, we're still damp & chilly here I'm showing 253 miles at 87%, imputed to be 290 miles at 100%

Show us what you get during a 100 degree day in the south at 100%, I'd expect a lower value if the algorithm predicts heavy AC demands.

Will do. I want to see also what high temps will do to the charging curve.

A few days ago it was 68 degrees here - I charged to 100% and 342 miles, then did a 120 mile road trip with speeds varying between 45 and 70. The truck was moderately loaded (500 lbs). When I arrived at my destination the GOM showed 228 mi. at 72% SOC.

When other folks seeing the same numbers on similar weather conditions, then Ford has done something. It is a good thing but what it is, we don’t know. Is it an OTA update, releasing reserved battery capacity that was reserved for the truck or something else. If the Administrator is reading our forum’s posts would like to add/say something?

I have seen similar numbers in even colder temps. I marked it down to being a reset as it happened after they opened my battery.

I have a strong feeling this is just Ford continuing to make the GOM even less reliable, not an actual increase in range.

I drove the truck this afternoon.
It went from 343 to 323. Those were actual 20 miles of driving and it was indicating 98% capacity of the HVB.
I am trying to make some sense of it without creating some theories. I am an educated person with 2 undergraduate degrees. I work on aircraft with A&P license. I am running the numbers from the first day I got my Lightning. The first days of the Lightning on the road were a bit challenging figuring the range while towing.
From those days to present, things have changed. I am more comfortable with this updated range and I can follow it with my CarScanner app.
The numbers are very close.
Yes….I am still follow the numbers so I don’t get complacent.

I appreciate the amount and level of analysis that many on this site conduct. It’s one reason I visit often - to check things out. If I’m traveling a longer distance I do some planning for charging - I do the same with our ICE vehicle. But overall I just take the Lightning as it is and use it. I’ve had only one other vehicle that I enjoyed as much - a Triumph Spitfire I had when I was a Marine 1st Lieutenant.

In your testing see how it responds the closer you get to 70% SOC. From previous comments here it seems the GOM is closer to usage history below 80% SOC, above 80% it would seem to bias towards reporting the "offical" mileage even if your driving history put you below 2.0 mi/kwh.

For me i run around 1.7 to 2.1 mi/kwh, yet as I said it was showing 345 the last time I charged to 100%.

In the end to get a proper range test we would need to drive a "highway" route with an average speed of around 54mph as that was the official government testing.

Yeah, there have been a few folks around here who have experienced it. It seems to be a combination of Ford being optimistic with their Guess-O-Meter and previous driving that had high mi/kwh numbers.
Mine was 378 miles on the first charge after the major software update that erased my prior settings without me realizing it. As a result, I unintentionally charged the truck to 100%.
