Tomorrow I take delivery of a '24 Lightning Lariat .... I have questions..so many questions

So to summarize... The Lightning is the most amazing truck ever, or maybe not.

If the buyer of a Lightning does their research (specifically on this forum) before buying it will 100% be the most amazing vehicle. The only people that dont love the lightning are those that dont research the pros and cons before buying.

I can only speak for myself but it's by far the best and most favourite truck I've ever owned. But in saying that, I've not run into any problems like some have. As the saying goes, most people don't come to a forum to talk about how great things are but as soon as there is a problem, we are right there typing away. Although it's important for people to do their research they also need to take forums such as these with a grain of salt.

Before I bought, I must have spent 2 years watching a thousand YouTube videos of every EV truck out there. I knew exactly what I was getting myself into and so far its exceeded my high expectations. As you said, the only people that don't seem to feel that way are the ones that did not do their research. Is there room for improvement. Oh yeah... But it's still the best truck out there for my use case.

Tip number 1: THOROUGHLY check your truck top to bottom BEFORE you drive it off the lot. Check the roof for transport scratches, make sure there are no weird dashboard pop ups, examine the entire body.

Love your choice of colors. Under certain conditions it's Black, but in the right light it's a beautiful dark metallic blue

I agree, after getting my truck home and doing the first hand wash, & ceramic coating, I found what looked like water spots on the roof. unfortunately they would NOT rub out. Was too late to do anything so I coated over it. .
(The water spots were not bad, you had to look for them, but they were there)

Another recommendation that I would insist on having the dealer do before picking up is getting every module and over the air update applied. I did not do this and it took almost a year to get up to date. Some are still not up to date after years. I assumed the update mechanism was like an iPhone. You just go to software update and let it go until it's up to date. That is not the case. Ford decides when you get an update, one by slow one, and there is no rhyme or reason for when you are ALLOWED to get one. If I could go back, this is the one thing I would insist on being done.
