Pulling the trigger on a used Lightning, should I be concerned if it has had its HV Battery replaced at 25k miles?

Not new to electric cars, but this will be Ford I've owned in 20 years. Looking at a 2024 Flash, its for sale at a Chevy Dealership so they haven't been super helpful on the details. And to be fair, I rarely trust that any dealer knows anything specific about a used car on their lot!

Looking at the carfax, you could infer the previous owner got rid of the vehicle at the same time the battery was replaced (or repaired who knows).

If I 'test drove it' over to a Ford dealer, would they even tell me anything?

Does a replaced HV battery come with a new warranty or is it just covered under the original warranty?

You think it is worth buying, or should I just find another used Lighting? This one has been sitting for over a month on the lot, so its getting to that point the dealer will make a deal to move it.

Thanks for the help!

I had Module 7 replaced at 6k miles and all is gravy 2k miles later. They're warrantied until 100k. If the price is right send it

I doubt they replace the entire battery, more likely just one of the 9 modules. I'm on my second module replacement, works fine.

Post that VIN over in the VIN check thread and someone can give you a better history report than the dealer or Carfax.

You might also be able to call that dealer that replaced the “ battery” or module and see if they would tell you anything?
That certainly is a lot of miles in a short amount of time, around 5000 miles per month!

Not so likely for a 24 Flash, but check the Ford recall site to see if the Safety Recall 25S18 applies to the VIN.

That would mean it would need to go in for another battery module(s) replacement, which could be a month-long hassle, but should take the worry out of a later battery module failure if Ford has really figured out the cause of so many HV battery failures requiring one or more of the 9 modules to be replaced.
