The sad part about it, I can guarantee you if the pillars look like that, so does the rest of your paint. And no, it did not leave the factory like that. I'm almost certain the pillars come with film on them and should be scratch free.

I had a couple of scratches on mine, nothing like what you are showing. I had already used clay bar and was doing a light polish before adding a ceramic coat. I decided to go ahead and hit the pillars with the DA polisher as I knew if it didn't correct they were going to get replaced anyway. I was surprised they polished out like paint does.

So while your dealer did the best they could to wash and prepare your truck with sand filled wash materials, you can save them.

I know it isn't just pocket change, but for a hundred or two you can get a DIY dual action polisher and some materials and be proud as hell when you correct it yourself. If you did get back to a dealer you will just likely end up with more frustration. They'll claim they didn't do it, they won't want to replace them and more than likely they have no clue how to fix them.

After reading this thread I decided to look at my B Pillar Post trim and I was surprised to find I have the glossy piano black trim on the drivers side of my 2023 XLT ER with keypad. No scratches noticed but the truck is covered with the tree pollen so prevalent in SW Virginia this time of year. Then I checked out the passenger side and the trim is a textured matt black finish. Shouldn't both sides match?

I actually think I prefer the textured matt black finish like all other other black trim on my truck. Granted, it is likely that no one other than me will ever notice.

Curious if any others have the same mismatched B Pillar trim.

Any chance that matte side still has a factory film on it that needs to be removed?

Or does a Pro/XLT have a different panel than a Lariat? Could truly be mismatched.

Hmm, I will certainly check for the factory film. That had not occurred to me...

I will get some pictures tomorrow in the daylight, but it looks just like the black plastic trim elsewhere like near the wipers / hood, on the top of the bed, etc.

One side is wrong. Look at another XLT to determine which.

I think the passenger side looks just like the trim on the Pro @RST

Here are pics of both sides and one close up of the passenger side trim. Excuse the pollen :)

Factory mistake for sure. Unless the dealer damaged something and they replaced them without matching.
