I just read an article saying 4,400'ish Lightnings were sold in November. In a tweet, Jim Farley said more ev sales news will come out this Monday. I am hopeful some news will be released regarding the supercharger network.
I actually love the commonality between the ICE and EV F-150. It makes the Lightning blend into the crowd, until its plugged in. I dont like the look for the Silverado EV, and it seems like it's going to be way too expensive.A good friend of mine got rid of his Tundra and didn’t want the smaller R1T, but opted for the R1S.
He told me this morning that he wished he just got the F150 - combination of internal size and a truck bed that he didn’t think he would miss.
He is now contemplating potentially the Silverado after it comes out - wants something that has more bling (Lightning too much like every other F150), but useful like a truck and no more gas
I'm with 'ya. I love the fact that the Lightning is an F-150 and is inconspicuous.I actually love the commonality between the ICE and EV F-150. I also like the commonality of the Lightning but I definitely did not want my Lightning to blend in. I hate it when manufacturers put fake grilles on EVs to make them look like ICEs. I want everyone to know my truck is an EV.I actually love the commonality between the ICE and EV F-150. It makes the Lightning blend into the crowd, until its plugged in. I have had the same tonneau cover sine my 2014 F-150 and the same weather tech carpet liners since my 2018 F-150. This is a big plus, having commonality with the ICE version.I also like the commonality of the Lightning but I definitely did not want my Lightning to blend in. At first I didn’t l like the grille insert on the Lightning but it has grown on me. Today I kind of like the two-tone effect the grille makes with the carbonized gray color. I also like the fact that there are a ton of aftermarket accessories for the F150, like ladder racks and tonneau covers, that will work with the Lightning.
Now those are interesting numbers, and if accurate then only about half the Lightnings produced have been sold. This may explain 1) Why Ford is losing so much money on the Lightning, and 2) Why I see so few other Lightnings on the road.Taxmanhog wrote: “

I think your post is misleading. Autotrader indicates less than 9,000 new Lightnings on the lots and that’s compared to over 80,000 new F150s on the lots. Inventories of Lightnings have been ramping up quickly over the last few months which many of us see as a positive sign.Taxmanhog wrote: “

They are as accurate as the Ford production & sales reports released to the auto media. Now those are interesting numbers, and if accurate then only about half the Lightnings produced have been sold. I agree that the Autotrader numbers could be off by a thousand or two but off by twenty thousand? I don’t think so. If Ford has twenty thousand Lightnings sitting around they are going to want sell them and they are not going to be able to sell them if they don’t advertise them for sale.Clearly Ford knows how many Lightnings are unsold and on dealer lots. One of the challenges we have is the ability to get an accurate number. To my knowledge, Autotrader doesn't get the inventory from Ford, they get listings dealers put up, no? So if I'm a dealer, and I don't put every inventory item on Autotrader, it's not accurate, right?
Ford doesn't list them, dealers do. Dealers pay money to list them, right?I agree that the Autotrader numbers could be off by a thousand or two but off by twenty thousand? I don’t think so.
