My 2023 f150 lightning range is horrible my ford dealer lied to me and made excuses for there product i contacted Ford motor corporations, lemon law buyback department. They reviewed it for 60 days. They first said they were going to buy it back and then change their mind. It's been in the dealer for over 30 days sitting there. has anyone else dealt with the terrible range or the excuses that the dealer made about? The poor performance

How many miles do you expect a pickup size golf cart to go?
No, I get it, "230 miles for Standard Range and 320 miles for Extended Range batteries", but cold weather, towing, and fast driving cut into that deeply. Range anxiety when getting down to an empty tank of electrons and no electron stations in sight is scary.
Why is your truck at the dealer? Waiting on a repair? What state are you in and what are the lemon law rules? What is the Build Month/Year of your new or used truck (top of sticker, driver's door B pillar)?
But man, the 775ft-lbs of torque and 450-550hp, the roominess and frunk storage, are very nice.

It says it's supposed to get 240 miles to a charge. It did that for the first week. Then it dropped down to 222, then 213. If it's cold, it doesn't charge all the way if it's hot. It doesn't charge all the way if I'm pulling a trailer. It's supposed to cut the mileage in half. But in actuality, when I hooked up a trailer for every mile, I drove it took two miles of range off of it.It's been in the shop for them.Trying to fix the range issue along with a number of recalls that it's experiencing i've had the truck for only one year. It has 10000 miles on it. In order to travel 400 miles round-trip, it took 11 hours and 7 stops to charge.

That would be fine if they weren't trying to give me $39000 for a truck, I paid $57000 for that. Only has ten thousand miles that I purchased one year ago

You had to charge every 60 miles? What’s the story there?
They were towing. Didn't say what kind of trailer or how fast they were going.

If your primary use case is towing long distances at highway speeds, then I'd agree the Lightning isn't the best choice. You can make it work but it's not ideal.

My advice to any EV buyer is Always buy the extended range battery. Better range, better longevity, (typically) better warranty, faster charging, more flexibility.
If You bought the SR and are towing, it’s not a good fit. A little research would have revealed that.
Otherwise, to improve your range you need to slow down, limit your acceleration rate and learn to use the power meter to get a 0 demand power state and glide and exploit hills and declines etc.
Just ease up up the accelerator.
Our F150 Lightning Flash delivers exactly what I expected, if not more.
I can routinely get 260+ on the interstate and 300+ mixed driving on a charge.
Are you charging at 240V at home ?

I love when people sign up just to post a semi coherent story of how bad their truck is.

OP, you should have spent some time here before you bought the truck and then maybe you'd have some realistic expectations.

Also, I question your story about the dealer investigating "range issues" for so long. It wouldn't take long to show you what the truck is capable of and that your truck is working properly. The advertised range is an epa rating, a combined estimate under ideal conditions, drive it like the epa test and you'll get the range.

What colour is your truck? Did you special order it? Did your dealer explain the range estimate?

What are you expecting here, sympathy? Or help? Just looking to vent?

We can't help you without knowing what you have. If you say your er gets 60 miles while towing a teadrop at 55mph, we might agree, but if you are towing a camper at 75 with a SR battery, then yeah, that could be normal. But since you don't offer any details it's impossible to help.

What is your mi/kwh, how fast do you drive, and does it get cold there?

Can't help without info, and you won't get any sympathy here...

just traveled almost 1,000 miles this week,
to see three of my sons in N Georgia
and far N Alabama(Rocket city USA)...

enjoyed every second of it, admittedly in very NICE upper 70's late February temps!

....averaged 2.5mi/KW in my PRO SR

after over 52,000 miles, and towing our 3,800lb single-axle Camper more than 1/2 of those miles over the first 30 months(Aug '22), I still can't believe how fast, how smooth, and how incredibly comfortable this AMAZING MACHINE really is...

it really DOES live up to the expectations that JimFarley laid out to his Ford board only a short time before that...

I would buy another, or two, in a heartbeat ...

here's some easy charging details:
-Tesla for most 'fast charging', and it IS fast... as much as 160kw...
-and some Home charging at son's locations, too(overnight)...

oh yeah, forgot to mention... the last night was an overnight in the 'bed', as a 'camper' for the night...

used ProPower all night, while 240v charging, to power my Wifi TMobile box for laptop 'work', and for TV for streaming DirecTVStream with my RokuTV for 'Survivor' night.. and having my temperature-controlled electric heater, which came on and off several times thru the ~55degree overnight hours...

my 8' x 12' tarp created the 'tent' for the night, while the full bed-rug, sheets and moving blanket and pillows made for an acceptable 'comfortable' night...

Some range or efficiency numbers would help us determine if they are as bad as you say. Seeing that you have 1 post I'm assuming you bought an EV and had no idea how they work, and that the EPA rated range is an absolute value.

Do you understand the 240-mile range is the EPA rated range that is determined under very controlled conditions? All gas engines are rated the same. Did you complain when those vehicles did not meet the rated range? These conditions are rarely achieved in real life. Do some research prior and you would have known.

Thats a fair price. Do you expect to get the price you paid after owning it a year and driving 10k miles? My Lariat ER is worth $46k and it's not even a year old.
