It would be deleted as it would be EAP…

But hypothetically let’s say someone did get it as a part of EAP. I’m not sure how such a person would be able to actually test it and provide feedback without access to an adapter. Seems silly to roll out such an update without also providing the tester with an adapter….
Unless they have an adapter….and only test at magic dock Sites to hide that fact 🤔😉🤣

In all of the rumors and sightings - did Charge Assist previously have Tesla addresses in it? Just thought I'd check when I checked for SW. The first address on this list is a Supercharger location not far from me. So many Tesla addresses, but it would not put it in the list to route me to a charger. These may have already been in the system for a while, I never checked.

Why would the Tesla SW be EAP? If it requires an update and they hit Feb, or even the next few weeks, they need that SW rolling to get most of the fleet.

Tesla’s shooting videos of other brands using Superchargers.

Ford F-150 Lightning NACS adapter is now on Ford parts website (but can't be ordered yet) IMG_0354

Sure they can. Whether they use the MAC address like EVgo Autocharge+ or the VIN, they can identify the individual vehicle plugged in.
Naaa, I highly doubt they will try to restrict CCS access to SCs based on VIN. This will promote middle man hacking and adapter MAC/VIN spoofing immediately. This whole thing was a big PR stunt, they will selectively either open them to all or not; just like the MagicDock. And I guarantee you we will see some open and then close back with no explanation or care that people have come to rely on them. Expect nothing more than a giant cluster fu*k. The only saving grace to this whole antisappointment is probably that less than 10% of Ford owners will ever even try to use or rely on a SC.

You may very well be right. But until people get the adapters, it will be a small amount of other brands unless they buy adapters themselves and most wont unless they are roadtrippers. At least not right away until they see if their OEM will give them one like FORD and Rivian. People like the free S...tuff.

But Tesla may control it by requiring activation in the OEM software like FORD Blue Oval until it is all rolled out then allow activation like they do with the Magic Docks like they do now.

Tesla is the only one who will throw the switch. And I suspect we are all going to be very disappointed that they are only going to open up select chargers where they think it will not affect their customer base's opinion of others using their SCs. I hope I'm wrong, but this is the way I see it going. Because once a SC is open, They can't control who uses it. All brands have equal access under the CCS standard.
That can't be true, they specifically said Ford was the first company to gain access to the superchargers followed by GM so they can definitely control who uses it still.

I could be wrong but I don't think any current deployments of of Supercharging enablement on a Ford vehicle as shown in the picture isn't yet available to the general public. So anyone who already has it and can speak to would likely be a part of the EAP program and wouldn't really be able to speak to it..

In several weeks that might be a different story.

I don’t think EAP for the Lightning will include access to this. Likely only Mach-E’s. Lightning owners only get surveys lol

I disagree. The percentage of people capable of such a feat is so small, that it is not worth them worrying about. Restriction by MAC/VIN is the easiest, most straightforward way to achieve their goal of opening their network in phases. I don't think it's a stunt, it's just good business. They've seen the mess that can happen when there's a free for all and they don't want to tarnish their good reputation. Opening up in a phased roll out makes sense.

Access is being controlled by VIN. That’s how Tesla is able to do the rollout to manufacturers in stages. VIN is part of the charging protocol.
Kind of like how they restrict salvaged Teslas on their network?
So Ford would have to hand over the VIN of every car they have made with CCS.
I guess this would allow use without the FORD BLUE OVAL but then Tesla would need to made superchargers select-able for those users like Magic Docks. This may be more intensive then making us go through Blue Oval to activate. Then they would not need a VIN or an update to their APP

This is why we're using FordPass/Blue Oval -- not the Tesla App. The chargers will not be available in the Tesla App for activation.

My guess is that our truck will provide its VIN, Tesla will poll the Ford cloud, "Hey Ford, this guy one of yours?". If Ford says yes, electrons flow. The worrying aspect of this guess is the reliability of Ford's cloud.

If so, means the full price for charging without their plan discount. But reliability will make it a quick backup.
