Need help identifying my 2022 Lariat as a Mannequin for 42/42 due to warranty issue

Thread hijack alert: I have an inkling as to what the term "mannequin" means in this context, but can someone point me to a clear definition? I have a '22 which I bought gently used from a dealer - I thought it was a dealer demo car, or maybe the dealer owner's car or something, but now thinking it is a mannequin. Can you tell by vin? And other than that 42/42 is there any other differences to note?

Share your VIN with, me in a DM, I have a small database of initial production Lightnings, with codes that will identify if it was a dealer stock order (first ones were for demonstration purposes) or a customer special order.

Generally vins ending digits G02457 and lower are demo/mannequins

While Vins ending in G02614 and higher are special orders from customers with reservations

Somewhere between these two points is the true line in the sand between special orders and stock order mannequins.

If you have the original or reprint Monroney sticker the order code F999 & F001 are the stock mannequins.

I believe @TaxmanHog is correct. I have one that had 380mi on it when I bought it in 2023. The VIN is …..1307 and it has ALL the original bells and whistles, including the premium paint color.

You have a Ford PremiumCare ESP with lamp coverage, and it didn't didn't cover the light? I sure would love to hear their reasoning for denying it.

Like any other warranty/insurance their profit relies on denying claims, so I'm guessing the reasoning is along the lines of "caused by external factors".

But yeah, I'd love to hear the official reason for it as well.

I see where my confusion came from. Multiple sources say production began 4/26/22. I took a look again at Ford's press release and while it does seem to suggest that's the day production began, in one bullet point it said "full production." So they were apparently quietly making saleable trucks before then on a limited scale. Maybe they just waited until they were confident they could make ongoing production without stoppages to work out kinks.

I can definitely see how you reached that conclusion. Had I seen that press release, I'd have been even more confused about my build date.

Any one of them could have been enrolled in the FCTP program after they were received at the dealership and if so would have become "mannequins".

Some trucks were sent specifically as a mannequin as has been stated...and some trucks were ordered and then the order was dropped and then the dealership would likely have put that truck on the FCTP program, and it would then have been a "mannequin" as well (a demo for minimum 60 days before it could be sold).

I ordered my Lightning and took delivery on 6 June 22. The following week the dealership's mannequin arrived and was identical to my truck except for max tow. It eventually timed out and was sold to somebody in the Atlanta area in a dealer swap.

A '23 Mach-E GT arrived at my dealership as stock in July of that year. My salesman asked me if I wanted to trade my '21 Premium ER for it, and I said yes. But because they had started the ball rolling to put that car on the FCTP program, I had to wait the full 60 days to do the trade because it was then a "mannequin" and couldn't be sold. I did get the extra warranty as a result, though (42/42).

So does that mean mines is a demo? 2022 Plat the weird thing is that when I bought it used, they left the insurance card in the truck and it was insured by Ford motors VIN G0389X

Need to see the section to the left of what you're showing to see the ORDER CODE.
But based on your G0389X, it's likely a special order. CHECK on this opinion, BLUE labels were 99% STOCK ORDERS, but we've seen 1% rare exceptions

Mine is 1637. 03-22-22 and it says F001. I knew it was a mannequin, sought them out.

The 42 month had to be paid for by the dealership. Mine would not. I had a subsequent issue and Ford gave me 5 year 60,000 as compensation for the issue.

The 2122 is most likely a Special Order, dealerships have the option of creating their own codes or let order processing system generate random four character codes. When FORD HQ front loaded the mannequins they issued F001 for the majority with a couple of exceptions.

Also noticed that your sticker shows 03 31 22 as the Thursday windows sticker run date for build week 04/11/2022 this week was the transition from mostly mannequins to a small mix of Special order trucks, @idahospud was one of our earliest builds on the forum that week, also @Scanman57
