Hi everyone, I am a new owner of a 2024 F-150 lightning Lariat in black. I am a former owner of an 88 mile Leaf then a ram 1500, and then a Nissan Leaf SV plus with 220 mile battery. I miss driving a truck, but I do not miss the terrible gas mileage. Originally I was waiting for the electric Ram charger, but prices have gotten so out of control and Stellantis has so many problems. I decided to jump on the Food lightning which offered me an ends of year deal that I could not Pass up.

Previously, I promised myself that my next electric vehicle would be at least 300 miles and this is a 320 miles truck!

Admittedly, it will get less mileage in winter and with towing! As every vehicle do electric and non-electric!

I have driven electric cars in the winter, so I am well aware of how to drive them conservatively by substituting my cabin heat with just my heated seat and heated steering wheel (if I had to). Also, by keeping my road mileage only at 60 mph if needed , and by preheating the cabin and the battery at home. Anyone who does not do these Minimum-things should not complain about their winter loss of mileage.

I also understand that the 2024 has added a heat pump, but I have yet to see ratings comparing 2023 to 2024 in the winter with all things being equal. I love this truck. I really do.

Hereā€™s the funny thing, I originally ruled out the Ford lightning because I was under the impression that it was simply a glorified truck with an electric battery, and it was not built from the ground-up as an ELECTRIC truck! However, now that I am an owner, I can tell you that Ford put extensive research into making this electric truck look, feel, ride and look like a regular truck more than being an original electric truck. All of this but more agile, more power, more torque, more of everything. I am so glad that I did not get the beastly cyber truck which I had reservation for, and Chrysler ruled themself out with their hundred thousand dollar price tag as well as their hundred ton overweighted electric truck. Lol

This is a great forum. Whenā€™s the next lightning party in Pennsylvania, or do I need to have one? Lol

Welcome! Depending on where it's held in PA I'd make it, I'm a couple hours SW of Harrisburg and PA is very well stocked with L3 chargers when compared with WV!

Well, welcome from Cali.
I've had mine bout 14 months, planed on getting a Ford sometime before I did. But here I am. I came straight from ICE, and I could NOT be happier. I think you will find MOST folks here are very happy with their decision, I have an XLT, and would have liked a Lariat, but the financials didn't pan out. Don't get me wrong, there are some folks here that have definite issues with their Lightning and I sympathize with them . . . knock on wood, Mine has been ok. But I also don't rack up the miles like some do. Anyways, welcome, great group of folks here with a LOT in institutional knowledge . .

Welcome. As another former Leaf owner you will find that the Lightningā€˜s battery doesnā€™t degrade like the leafā€™s battery does. After 20 months my Lightning battery SOH is at 99.5%.
