is it possible I didn’t condition my battery correctly or would this be a problem no matter what. I told them that the vehicle seemed odd from the get go with the windows constantly fogging up and they said it might’ve been the new acoustic glass….yeah ok. Now after replacing this the window haven’t really fogged up as badly as they did prior.
If you had temp's below freezing and the PTC was under performing or failed completely that might be a problem, but it's likely they have a condition that throws the powertrain code when the temperature gets that low.

What state are you in, do you have freezing conditions ?

I am still waiting on the battery pack, I was #14 in the queue to receive one apparently, as of yesterday. My dealer said it would be a couple weeks until we potentially saw the battery. Once I get my vehicle back, I will give you the manufacturing info. Looks like I will be without my truck for about 5 weeks altogether.

Well, I have an appointment Thursday morning. We'll see what's what. Already made contact with the BEV team. They just noted my issue. But said they really don't get involved until the vehicle has been diagnosed by the service department. But did say to call back with any issues, like not getting a loaner.
Got a call back from the dealer. They said truck is ready?? I can pick it up tomorrow as it needed a couple of updates that are taking longer than they expected. We shall see.
On another note. Will the update change any of my settings that I created with Forscan ?

I was at a supercharger this morning and out of nowhere these faults all popped up. So I stopped the session and am stuck. Getting it towed to my dealership.

Service advanceTrac
Trailer brake system fault
Park brake system fault, service now
Front motor fault, service required
Service vehicle soon
Pre-collisions assist not available
Pedestrian sounder fault, service now
Heard back from the dealer today, the ABS module is bad and blew the fuse that all of the other systems are on too. ABS modules are on back order… Corporate did authorize an unlimited loaner because of the unknown timeframe for the replacement part, unfortunately it’s a Dino juice escape.

So, par for the course. Truck is not ready. They'll keep it for the weekend. Truck sent me a message at 3:56 am . See screenshot. There is an electical drain, service immediately . Then at 8 am I get another message from my Lightning. Your lights were left on and now range is zero. Strange. I call them at 9:20 and tell them that the truck is still sending an SOS to me .lol. The service writer tells me the 12v battery is no good and will cost me 130 bucks to replace. I told him I charged that battery and did a load test on my Snap on battery tester and it passed. So I tell them I have to work Sunday night and need a loaner. Hmm, they don't do that at Robert's Ford in Alton,Illinois. Long story, but I called back the BEV team, got disconnected twice only to be told to rent a car on my dime. It might get reimbursed. So far NOT IMPRESSED WITH FORD CUSTOMER CARE ON ANY LEVEL. And then of course they send a survey. Lmao

So today I check my messages. Got the one this morning about Android 14 users having a hard time with phone as key. I am looking at my previous messages about the lights being left on. It was DELETED ( NOT BY ME) and replaced with this Bull shit . See screenshot.

Not that I am aware, but I usually flush out messages once read, but if I were experiencing a "problem" then I'd probably keep any related to the issue.

Luckily, I took the screen shots to post on here! Just seems shady ? What they actually did is replace the, Left lights on message with
Quote/" Please plug in to Recharge its battery, it's voltage is low, which could make it difficult to start your vehicle". And it was at a different time stamp than the original.

So, I figured I'll let it slide. Although I showed the service writer my screen shots. Any how truck seems to be good with just an update. Here are the service tickets (screen shots) I am surprised that the BECM code did not require a battery module replacement. What do you guys make of the TSB 23-2125 to update the SOBDM
Also had a recall 24B56? Glad my truck is home. Bad snowstorm yesterday, Driving the wife's old 2011 Sonata Hybrid with 190k on it was not comforting, but handled the deep snow with ease. Just getting going was the hard part.

Interesting to see reports of aging LVB and how reduced health / capacity will impact our trucks.

My guess is that there wasn't enough power to reliably run the multitude of computers on these trucks, as that battery gets worse, maybe not even enough juice to engage the HVB motor / charging contactors reliably.

Well , we all know that there are good mechanics and not so good. He did make the comment that he was on with Ford engineers about the update not loading. But that was probably because he let the battery go dead in the first place. So far the truck is operating well.

According to one Ford service technician I know, when the technician is reprogramming some parts of a Lightning, they need to connect to a Ford server to do so. Additionally according to the technician, when the Ford servers come back on line after a holiday break, they are notoriously buggy. Consequently, it may take several attempts and consultations with Ford engineers to connect and download the programming before it finally “takes” on your truck. This is one reason why it may take several hours or a full day for the work to be done. It is also for this reason that I try not to schedule service on my Lightning the first working day after a holiday.

Powertrain malfunction

I have a 2023 Ford Lightning ER.
Today I was going to get lunch and a service soon light came on. I have 19000 miles and know I have to service at 20000. While I was going through the parking garage I noticed the truck was accelerating even with my foot off the accelerator. I tried to accelerate but it would not accelerate. I stopped and was backing up and the accelerator started to work. Then a sudden burst of power happened and I slammed the back corner of my truck into a concrete column. I am pissed see attached. I think Ford should pay for my damages

My truck has been in repair shop for 3 weeks to fix the body damage, before Ford dealer will try and find out the cause. I sent a message directly to Ford who monitors this site and have not heard anything from them as of yet.
