Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power

We get an alert “Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power” and the vehicle won’t shift move. The last time this happened, we had it towed to the dealership and by the time they started it, it was fine. This morning, we were all packed up to go somewhere and it happened again. This is incredibly unreliable and inconvenient. Does anyone have experience with this? Last time the dealership couldn’t tell us anything.

I’m having the same issue currently. Brought my Lighting to the dealer last Monday for a “charge fault” issue, when I arrived, I got that alert. Dealer did some updates and said it was fine, they brought it back to me and still had the “powertrain malfunction/reduced power” alert on. Dealer took it back and no answers to date.

I got it once, shortly after an OTA was applied. Do you recall if you received in OTA update prior to these occurrences?

May I get the Month/Year of your Build Date, top of sticker driver's door jam, please? I am tracking the number of reports of Power Malfunctions / Reduced Power to get an idea if Ford is improving from their September, 2023 CSP 23B57 notice that 4% of trucks would have one or more battery module failures. Wish you luck that it is a simpler fix than having to drop the battery pack of 9 modules, holding the 96 cells (8x11 + 1x8), to change a module out due to a bad cell (made up of 4 or 5 sub-cells, depending if SR or ER battery) .
