I got tired of not getting updates, so I took the plunge...I now get the updates before most show up as OTAs.

Finally updated at 1 AM. I've updated poll to "Yes, after several failed attempts."
What did I do ? Dunno. Nothing different from before.

I kept my poll the same after the fix so it can serve as a reference for Ford and members here. If everyone update their response, it will become inaccurate with regards to how smoothly this specific update worked for everyone.

Do you use the Mongoose or the VCX? I‘m not sure I’m ready to spend $500 but I’m wondering if the VCX is reliable.

I paid for a Mongoose, but I read where some people are renting them out.

Mine finally updated last night. My advice? Stop caring and it eventually works out.

Heck, I had the battery around 60%, doors unlocked, no parking brake and lights on auto. I understand that there are certain conditions the truck is looking for, but I think it's mostly random.

At the end of this arduous process, these are the two most important values for them to affirm what they already know, is that they need to improve the install parameters or upgrade the specifications for what type of LVB belongs in the Lightnings.

Not sure exactly how Ford processes the updates but is it possible that Fords servers are not adequate & these updates time out because of slow response from Fords server?
Maybe most of the things we are trying doesn’t matter?
