Ford does sell a cover for the charge port door. Might come in handy if you leave truck plugged in for days at a time.

Some one made one himself with a 3-D printer and posted the code as well...
If you have a 3-D printer...$90 is pretty steep for a piece of plastic.

Thanks and what about the need for any cover over the open portal. Do I need to cover the open door and portal area from the elements?

I would get one when we are going to have freezing rain. Last years event froze my charger to the port and took a while to defrost so I could remove it and close the charge port door.
