I tried clicking on the translation to English so I could read info in link but it just reverts back to French. Do you know how I can access this link in English?

It doesn't change for me. Maybe try a different web browser?

Thanks and what about the need for any cover over the open portal. Do I need to cover the open door and portal area from the elements?
I would get one when we are going to have freezing rain. Last years event froze my charger to the port and took a while to defrost so I could remove it and close the charge port door.

I made a simple cover out of 1/2" closed-cell foam rubber. It seems pretty good so far but probably not as durable or fancy as the 3d printed versions or the expensive Ford version. It seems pretty effective for $2 and about 15 minutes.

I love that and the diamond plate pattern looks bad ass
