Yeah, open-ended questions don't really give much useful data. It can't be aggregated and they have to take what is said with a grain of salt. As a side gig I teach a class at a university and they do faculty evaluations with rated questions but also boxes for general comments. I'll get some constructive feedback but there will always be responses that I ignore. I could get glowing reviews from 24 students and 1 who says I'm the worst professor ever because that one student is just mad at the world and can never be pleased.
My work does an annual employee survey. I'm very vocal about a few topics and I get very creative in my responses. Although the survey is technically anonymous, my leadership always knows which one I filled out. 😅

They identified my dealer in the survey, which is not public information.
Sure it is, because your dealer sells it also. And the registration was processed by them which is also public info And databases like Carfax have dealer info...

I consider the dealership an extension of Ford in this situation, though I realize that they are not owned by Ford and are just the equivalent of Wal-Mart selling Widgets. In Colorado registrations are not processed directly with the dealership as opposed to other states where you can transfer or get new permanent registration and plates at the dealership. You can't get your registration and plates until the title work is completed and they you have to go to the DMV.

The data sent to the state DMV is all a transfer from FMC to Me as it was a new vehicle and the dealership never had title of the vehicle. I have partner access to Colorado's DMV records and my VIN shows no records related to the dealership itself, though it is interesting that the dealership was able to issue a temp tag at the point of sale that you would expect to be linked back to them, but it's not in any of the data I can retrieve. The records only show that my temp tags were issued against the VIN, title transfer from FMC to my name, lien holder, and permanent registration/plates issued.

I didn't think of Carfax is a possible source of my data being sold, but the dealer did give me a "complimentary" Carfax for Life on the vehicle. Interestingly, the CarFax report it shows me lists "My Dealer" as the dealership where I have taken the vehicle for recalls, not the selling dealership. Maybe because there are 0 service records from my selling dealer as their service department appears to be incapable of spelling EV, much less servicing them.
