Just charged using my A2Z adapter at the Mcclenny V4 chargers, the magic dock would not work, but had no issues charging my F150 Lightning ER with A2Z adapter. I live nearby so reach out if you have any questions about this charging station.

Good info, thanks.

But it sounds like OP knows what he's doing with charging, and this thread was more of a heads up that even Tesla's well known reliability is not 100%. Some temporary issue made him unable to charge at a station that should have worked. Always have a plan B.

I'm really glad to here it was functional. It is nice to see the infrastructure expanding, and there almost always a secondary option where I travel. Really nice to have so many Circle K and Pilot stations coming online.

Most new v4 sites won't dispense the Magic Dock any more.
Not true, instructions state you have to hold the button for 5 seconds. I did that and it releases, but I still get a charge fault.

V3 and V4 is not part of the equation: only TESLA decides 'which' locations are available for "NACS Compatible" other EVs, like ours... it matters not whether V3 or V4...

V4 units are 'built' with the Magic-dock adapter built in, but that is ONLY for future usage, if deployed, by TESLA. It has no bearing on whether 'we' can use these locations, or not.

The ONLY way to know if you can use ANY Tesla Location is to check with TESLA, and the Tesla MAP, with the ONLY Filter used for 'Nacs Compatible'...
'Other EVs' filter will also work, as they have the Magic-Dock adapters available... well, at least most of the units - the other week in west Atlanta, that location had at least 3 that had been stolen from the unit.
The Buc-ees in TX have V3 & V4’s but thus far, I’m only able to access the V3’s.

I had this issue with Plugshare. A V4 install in Easton MD showed as being available to non-tesla vehicles, but it wouldn't show up in the tesla app when I tried to activate the chargers. The Magic dock would pop out, but the truck wouldn't charge at all. It's possible that they have since activated it, as someone since did have a successful charge, but a couple of months ago when I tried it wouldn't work.
Had the same issue with the Tesla app and though it said V4’s were available, I was forced to utilize the V3’s. This on multiple occasions tots past few months. V4’s were online in September.
