"Walk-Away" option will not enable

New 2024 Lightning Pro SSV ER, 7/2024 build date, small screen (not the 15-inch screen). I have searched the various Walk Away Lock (WAL) threads, but they all seem to be about how to enable the WAL switch in the Sync menu. I have the option in my settings menu, but I can't get it to enable. When I touch "enable" a popup message shows with "That option is not available right now. Please try again later." I have done various "later's"... 1 hour, 2 hours, 24 hours, etc... but still get the same message.

I followed the advice of the Forscan threads on how to enable WAL, and in the "simple" APIM menu, WAL already shows as "enabled".

The FDRS guru's (@Mike G and @rugedraw ) ran my VIN and I have no substantial updates available. There are DDM and PDM modules available for update (Driver Door Module and Passenger Door Module), but from other threads and sources, the APIM and BCM are what controls the WAL, so these should be unrelated.

So the questions:
-Is WAL available in a Pro trim?
-Is the message "try again later" accurate or is this similar to Ford's "Soon" (ie...never)?
-Does anyone else have a similar issue and did you get WAL to work?

Your truck does not have an RFA module listed. I guess the Pro cannot have this enabled, then.

I don't know these vehicles well enough to know, but PM me the VIN and if it has an RFA, then it can be done.

Anything with an RFA in it (Lariats and above I believe).

Having said that...I guess it won't work with just using the fob? That seems strange that they'd have a menu option for something that will only work via Bluetooth and a phone. Wondering why they couldn't make it work with just the fob if you aren't using PAAK?

Exactly my thoughts. My former MME's WAL worked with either the fob or PAAK. With the option for WAL available in the settings of the Lightning Pro, I would think that at least the fob would work.

Does anyone know which models get the walk away feature? Does my '22 Lariat SR get it?

My 22 Lariat SR (with BlueCruise) got it after the dealer applied the CSP for the parking sensors.

My 23 pro doesn't have it. But my 24 flash has it. Love that feature. It honks to let you know it locked.
My Flash doesn't have PAAK though. So it must be key fob enabled.

Does your Pro have the Walk Away option in the settings? Curious to see if Ford left it on there and if you get the "Try Again Later" message too.

I just scanned my XLT Option 312A. It unfortunately doesn't have the RFA module.

Do you still have the option in the sync screen settings? That's what I'm curious about. I still have the option to enable or disable in my sync screen under vehicle settings > Lock settings. It's weird that Ford would put the option in the settings screen and not have the option actually in the truck.

I just checked... no I don't have that option.

Weird. Maybe it is something coming "soon" for the 24's? Or maybe it's just a mistake by Ford?
