Not to mention the free advertising of having many people know at a glance that it is a brand new Lightning they see. It should only have a limited color palette imo. Especially 2022s.

This ties in with another thing that surprised me - no first edition. Wonder why they didn't do that.

I am still a bit perplexed at how they are going to finish up wave 6.
if each wave is approximately 2500:
2500+2500+2500+2500+2500+2500 =15,000
There will be people in each wave who pass. Though they can make an adjustment to add more to the next wave there will not be a perfect matchup in wave 6 and wave 6 will be the least desirable.
Trims will have disappeared
1st Pro-gone end wave 1
2nd XLT SR-prob gone end of wave 3
3rd XLT + SR-prob gone end of wave 5
4th Lariat+ LR-- prob gone mid wave 6
5th Lariat SR--prob gone mid wave 6
...leaving Platinums and XLT+ LR
So wave 6 will start with some Lariats left and then end up with those XLT+LR and Plats. Even if they invite 3000 people for the last 2500 trucks to increase the chances of getting those undesirables bought up, it's not going to work. If they just start sending out invites to the entire pool of 200,000 reservation holders for wave 6 they could probably sell those leftovers, but it has the potential to cause so much abrasion and confusion when they send out all those invites to people who are going to be massively disappointed. Ford could just send out 2500-3000 invites and then choose to roll the leftover parts into the MY2023 and fall short of their Platinum targets, but would they do that?
They cant expect to build/sell at the same trim ratios when they expand out to 150,000 in a year.

Stab in the dark speculation, the clean up wave [4/1 to 4/14] is going to be a free for all, might even sell out everything including the Platinum's.
