They may also kill Pro or make it fleet only. Also, I expect prices to go up and tax rebate to come down…
I wouldn’t be surprised by this at all or if they limited it to a stupid low number again for 2023. That’s why i’m not waiting for it, too much possibility of missing out again.

i mean, except the part where the Model 3 is a good car and the Neon was garbage. They do look a little similar.
Lol exactly. I mean in terms of popularity, volume and price, its hard for me not to think back to the neon.

I don't have a Tesla or any Tesla stock, but I don't think it's right to think of them as being left behind any time soon. Look the tear down on any EV and any Tesla that has a heat pump instead of a traditional car A/C system.

In the tear downs you get a sense that Tesla is strong in mechanical engineering and mechanical efficiency but weak in final touches and efficiency in simple things like putting body panels that line up

Tesla's build quality and paint is all crap, but the parts engineering and overall design efficiency really blows away any car company that makes EVs right now including Ford and the mach e.

You may not like the typical Tesla owner and what they value (I don't see many of them as NRA members), but if you're a die hard American and bleed red white and blue Tesla is your EV car company...and if it makes you feel better, no factory in Mexico.

Hopefully an F150 Lightning
For resale purposes, I am inclined to wait for the '23 even if the '22 is made available to me. I am in no big rush, and that one year will make a difference. Especially since if I was to get a '22, I won't see it until late summer or fall. I don't think I am high enough on the list, I paid my deposit on 5/21

I'm OK with a 2023 also....hoping the Ford works out the new vehicle bugs/issues in the first 10-20,000 vehicles. Also hoping more paint colors are offered in 2023. Ford..are you listening....WE WANT ERUPTION GREEN!!

The big three could take a page from Tesla and just ditch model years.
It's just that Tesla doesn't advertise model year.

Tesla uses model year. It's baked into the VIN.

Most regulation specifies model year, so it's not something that manufacturers can escape from at this point. At least not easily.

Let's say a new regulation comes out that says you need safety feature "X" for 2023 model year vehicles and beyond. Is Tesla gonna add this to every car they ever made because they "don't have model years"? Of course not. They quietly add it to their model year 2023 vehicles and beyond.

Maybe if you and I take a road trip to Detroit and yell REALLY LOUDLY at Ford HQ.

Edit: I am very willing to pay a reasonable upcharge for good colors!

You can't yell loud enough in Detroit to be heard in Dearborn.

FWIW I did mention this on Mike Levine's twitter feed.--the desire for a green Lightning
I always thought they missed the mark by not offering a Lightning Blue Lightning.

But my personal request would be Hot Pepper Red.

TBH...the color palette is rather bland for such an exciting vehicle....
