But now I charge like this at the full 48A with a Wallbox Pulsar Plus:

Thanks for all of the help guys really appreciate it. I ended up with the Emporia it had great reviews with a great price. I also like the fact that I could build on the unit and monitor my usage in the future.

New owner of a WR Lariat here. So I’m planning on running a 220v 60 amp breaker for 48 amp charging. What do you guys think is the best charger option. I can get the ford pro station for about 500$ off FB. What would be some other option.
I thought ford was giving all new leases and purchases free ford chargers and installation ?

They are, but I took the 2k off instead. Charger plus wire and other components would cost me less than 1000 and I’m more than comfortable with the installation myself.

I'm not sure what the process is in the US, but in Canada, they stopped giving out free FCSP chargers in June 2024. My salesman told me during the test drive (September) that it was included so they issued me a check for the retail price of one without blinking when I picked up the truck. I took the $2000 and bought an Emporia for $600. I obviously overpaid for the truck... :crying:.

“I love my classic Grizzl-E!”

I second the 40a Classic Grizzl-E - I have a 2024 Flash and my understanding is it only has one on-board charger and can only take advantage of upto 48a, not 80a like the trucks with two onboard chargers.

Eversource in MA offers a $700 rebate for charger or install if they can connect to it via WiFi and shut it down during peak times. Between that and the 30% federal tax credit for installing charging equipment I paid $385 for the 60 amp circuit installed by the electrician and my Tesla charger.

I thought ford was giving all new leases and purchases free ford chargers and installation ?
They are, but information is spotty as far is what is included in the installation portion. I looked up the company they require you to use and the reviews are terrible. I get the impression that the company wouldn’t do anything other than a very basic installation where the panel or an available 220V circuit is already in the garage. I would need them to run probably 100’ of cable, likely 2 gauge THNN in conduit, to get my main panel. The 90 amp panel in the garage already has the Tesla charger installed on a 60 amp circuit, so I don’t think it would be responsible to add another charger there but I do have a 50 amp plug for the welder nearby.

They are, but I took the 2k off instead. Charger plus wire and other components would cost me less than 1000 and I’m more than comfortable with the installation myself.
They dropped the incentive to $1000 in mid November. I’m going to the dealer in the morning to lease a 2024 Flash, so I need to decide on the incentive or roll the dice with the install. If the install gots tits up I’m guessing I’d get the free charging station nut nothing else from Ford to compensate. If I were to install the second charger outside it would only be a 20’ run to the main panel. The charger could go on the house but I’d prefer a pedestal. I’ll probably take the $1000 and just use the Tesla charger with the Lightning. My wife charges her Y from 35%-65% one to two times per week, her typical commute is 3 miles round trip. I will probably be charging the Lightning 3-4x per week.

The truck I’m looking to lease doesn’t come with the travel charger, saves me $500 on the MSRP (So maybe $200 when residualized). I may upgrade my Tesla charger to the new universal model for $550, seems like letting Tesla handle the adapter might be better than something third party.

My advice as a Tesla and Lightning owner. We charge both with Tesla Wall connectors and use A2Z adaptor for the truck. I’ve thought about a swapping my Tesla Wall Connectors for the Universal version but the standard version we have installed at our house and our cabin are working so well I don’t want the expense.

You should carry 2 adapters. The L2 NACS to J1772 and the DC fast charger NACS to CCS1 adapter.

A2Z sells them both as a bundle. and A2Z has excellent reviews. There are coupon codes to get 10-15% off.

If you buy the Ford Mobile connector it now comes with the DC Tesla NACS fast charger adapter.
