...be rebooted once in a while.
Today CarPlay wouldn't connect.
Usually, a few taps and things get going.
Not this time, and of course I was on an hour long drive.
Then the drive back, usually with a restart of the truck CarPlay gets fixed.
Nope.
Now another hour drive.
Finally I did what I do when an electronic device is not making logical sense...I...reboot the iPhone.
Apple fans will say that can't be necessary.
It is, at times, and was.
After I reboot my phone, CarPlay connected just fine.
No recent updates to either device.
It will be OK folks.

Love it when Apple fans demonstrate humbleness.

Sometimes electronics/computers just have to be power cycled. Things have gotten better over the years, but that was even something tech-support would have you do first thing! I got to the point when I would call in for different things, especially Internet connectivity back in the day, first thing I would say is I have already rebooted the system and then they would say have you tried turning it off and back on and I would say that is the first thing I told you after I told you what my problem is, and they would say oh yeah….

I restart mine at least once a week just to free the ram of any cache and to reset the kernel. Same with my iPad and MacBook Pro. While iOS will close down processes in the background, it still does keep some things buffered.

It always is a good thing to do that reset, even us and sleep 🥳

Funny, I've done the same to my Windows devices for...ever.

Well...don't get too excited.
My iPhone is finally catching up to what my Android phone did...5+ years ago.
I lost the family fight, plus the never ending "green bubble" shaming from friends is finally over.
The iPhone is a solid device, but Apple devices have plenty of their own issues.
It is hard to beat Apple integration, but they are still...hold it together Apple'rs...computers.

Carplay wireless is not that reliable of a connection. Initially, it connected fine, but for the past 8 months, it will not connect. I've tried removing my phone from the truck and re-adding it, I've tried restarting everything, no luck. My phone connects wirelessly perfectly fine to my wife's MME and our ICE car and my wife's phone connects perfectly fine to my Lightning. (both iPhone 14)

In my case, I doubt it is the phone given it connects perfectly fine to other CarPlay devices but open to ideas from the team here. My phone connects to CarPlay when I connect the cable, just not wirelessly.

I hope I never hear from the pilot of a commercial airplane at 33,000 feet for passengers to give him a few minutes while he reboots the computer. 😂

Why do you think the lights flash off and on in the cabin sometimes when you’re flying?

You might be surprised how many times a reboot of the computers on a plane fixes problems...though it isn't normally done during flight.
