Does your XM radio still work? Many including myself had that go bad.
Sirius XM still works fine after 1.7.1 for me. In fact it even shows additional information on the Radio screen. It shows who is hosting/DJ at the present time (e.g. Grant Random | Duke of Douchebaggery) along with the Channel Name, Logo, and Song Artist/Title. Still waiting on 2.1.1

I have literally never received an OTA update in the entire time I’ve owned my truck. Coming up on a year in March.

I find these threads interesting to say the least. Lol

Truck is scheduled for troubleshooting next week though.

I have heard Google maps offers this display as well after the same update, but since my truck is apparently OTA-immune, I can't confirm first-hand.
Can confirm, Google Maps shows turn by turn on the gauge cluster through Carplay. Just need Waze to do that now, but I'm not going to get my hopes up for that.

Got mine in March too. Evidently something wrong with certain build dates. Mine was Feb. 2021

Same. Never gotten a single one. I was notified about 1.7.1 once, but it never installed and whatever happened broke my auto-update on/off slider.

I stated this in a different thread. Those of you that are not/have not received updates should take their truck to get manually updated at the dealer. the issue is the gateway module needs to be updated to get the OTAs for early builds.

You need to update so you can get updates.

It is a mess, but if you do that then you should be in place to start getting updates.

Mine was a June build and I was getting NO updates. I took it to the dealer, they kept if for over a week then just gave it back to me saying "The guy who really knows about this stuff is off until after the 1st of the year. Let's schedule it for then." Of course, 2 hours after I got home, I got the notice that my truck had just downloaded 1.7.1. I can neither confirm nor deny that the dealership had successfully updated the "gateway" module... but they didn't say they did.

Still waiting to see if 2.x comes floating in sometime soon.

I cant say for sure about June needing that or not.. I do know there were a total of two gateway updates for my early truck so it is possible there was an update for June builds. I do believe the second one was to fix the first one. SO maybe they did do it. I could see by your vin if they did by your vehicle history what they did if anything

I've been trying a few forum searches and I don't think I'm hitting the right keywords so I'll try here...

I have been getting the OTA updates for Sync, and I am on 2.1.1. I mainly noticed all the new features when using SiriusXM, but nothing life changing.

What WOULD be life changing is if the dashboard/cluster software updated. I have now seen (in just a few weeks of being back on these forums) that there is a new Trailer Tire Status option in the towing menu (which I do not have!) and users have said that in the 2nd half of the year they are able to use 360 cameras at >8mph!!! I (and tons of others) have been wanting that forever!

Does anyone know how to update the DASHBOARD/CLUSTER software to the latest? Or what version we should be looking for? That way I can perhaps ask my dealer if they have anyone competent that can perform the update (if it isn't done OTA).

The Cluster /Speedometer? There is no update for those outside the very early ones. They had an update to fix an issue that a character in a contact name causes it to reset when a call comes through from that person.

Outside that the newer trucks have an update but I dont see any difference in it in terms of visual or menus.

I don't disagree with you at all, but damn this is easier said than done! My local dealer has had my truck twice for Sync issues and I'd estimate they gave it a total of 30 minutes of attention combined over those two visits. Since I had not received notifications of ANY updates, it took me weeks of back-and-forth with Ford to finally confirm that my OTA's are failing.

Even with that confirmation, the dealer states it's "a 50/50 chance" that manual updates will not be covered by warranty. His loose estimate was around $600 on the line if they "determine" it's billable.

After seeing posts by @BHunted1 I called again and scheduled another visit to "troubleshoot dash cluster issues and failed updates", but told them I won't bring the truck without confirmation that:
1. I will not be charged for any diagnostics
2. That a manual Sync update installation will be performed if the issues can not be corrected in any other way.

I was promised a callback to confirm that same day, which was a week ago today. I'll try my luck with the service desk again today, but it seems like I may need to go the "complaint" route as @Lodans suggests.

In previous posts I've refrained from mentioning this dealer by name, but Chapman Ford of Horsham, PA can bite me. I know a lot of users have described great sales experiences with them lately, but I feel like I've been giving them "one more chance" for 15 years now and they never seem to fail in dropping the ball on customer service.

I understand the frustration. I really do. I wish I could help everyone get these things done. Ive had to deal with it all myself. Fortunate for me though I have the tools to do it.

Dealers are in this situation they dont want to be in. Updates are apart of the new car world. They dont want it to be but it is. They have to come along kicking and screaming. Ford though is at fault for not conveying the message to their dealer network that updates are considered as apart of regular maintenance same as a oil change or rotation of tires. In fact when a vehicle is on for service they should be checking for updates as apart of the service.

These updates are critical to the trucks performance and should not be considered as optional.

I do not discount the effort it takes to get a dealer to help in these situations. you just have to determine if its worth your time to find a dealer willing to do it.

That TSB states a real issue and it pays them also.

I do agree, and I also know that like everyone else, they're short-staffed and over-booked. I really do sympathize with the dealers' position in this mess, but at the same time, it really is an obligation of theirs to work with us as they are Ford's representation to owners.

Maybe mine is just a dealer-specific gripe, but when I'm scheduling repeat-service on a truck with less than 12k miles about issues that have been present from day one, I expect a little more understanding. On my last visit I dropped the truck off on a Tuesday night. As of Friday afternoon, no one had even looked at it. 35 minutes after that call, I got the notification that the service had been "completed", which was essentially a recommendation that my phone charger (which was only a few weeks old at the time) was the likely cause. The damn cluster was literally reset IN THE LOT when I picked it up!

To me, that translates to "we have no idea what the issue is, we have no interest whatsoever in helping you resolve it, and we will do whatever necessary to deflect any responsibility for it".

Which TSB is this? Is there one that specifically addresses updating the gateway module so that the rest of the OTA updates work, or are you referencing TSB 21-2310?

I ask because at this point I'm creating a list of TSBs that I want them to work when I bring my truck in in January.

Thanks.
