Have you looked into if DTE will provide a rebate on a second charger or not? I could not find anything indicating one way or the other on their website as to any limitation on the number of rebates and am awaiting an answer from an email sent to customer service. Before buying any charger, the first place people should go is to their local utility company's website. Many utilities either sell discounted chargers, or provide a rebate if you buy a certain brand/model. They do this because they tap into the data to analyze usage, and also may restrict or push charging (restrict in peak periods, push in excess production periods).
I got $500 for buying either a ChargePoint Flex or a JuiceBox Charger. With a $500 rebate, and the now expired 30% credit, it was almost free.
With keeping my Volt for one of my teenagers to drive upon delivery of a lightning, I would need to install a second EVSE. I don't want to install the Ford Charger Pro that will come with the truck as the connector will not be usable on the Volt.
