Before buying any charger, the first place people should go is to their local utility company's website. Many utilities either sell discounted chargers, or provide a rebate if you buy a certain brand/model. They do this because they tap into the data to analyze usage, and also may restrict or push charging (restrict in peak periods, push in excess production periods).

I got $500 for buying either a ChargePoint Flex or a JuiceBox Charger. With a $500 rebate, and the now expired 30% credit, it was almost free.
Have you looked into if DTE will provide a rebate on a second charger or not? I could not find anything indicating one way or the other on their website as to any limitation on the number of rebates and am awaiting an answer from an email sent to customer service.

With keeping my Volt for one of my teenagers to drive upon delivery of a lightning, I would need to install a second EVSE. I don't want to install the Ford Charger Pro that will come with the truck as the connector will not be usable on the Volt.

Nothing in the T&Cs limits the number.

I didn't see anything either in the Terms and Conditions, which is why I sent an email for clarification. Their auto response is that I will see something in three business days.

I already have a JuiceBox 32A installed for my Bolt and I'm not sure if I want to install the CSP or not. In most cases 32A will be plenty to get it charged back up overnight. The thing I need to look into is what hours my off peak rates are and whether the 32A will be able to charge enough in that window. I have a 100A panel in my garage that feeds the EVSE so, theoretically, I could run 80A off that panel although I do have a few other intermittent loads which use that panel. Probably not enough to be an issue. I may install it and throttle it to 60A.

I'm definitely glad it comes with the 120/240 mobile charger. Even 120 is helpful if you're just sitting at a campsite for a weekend. 48 hrs at 1.5kw is going to fill a good chunk of the battery.

Don't know what your first charger is, but if you have a JuiceBox, and buy the same model, they can share the circuit. That's one of the reasons I got my JB48, if I get a second vehicle I can install another one and share the circuit if I don't want to go the Ford 80amp route.

I just received confirmation from DTE that they would allow for applying for a second rebate. You just have to show proof of purchase of a second EV and have a separate serial number for the second charger from your first charger.

Anyone considering BUYING a Ford branded charger needs to carefully consider SUPPORT. The dealer will know bupkus about it. The Ford general support people will know bupkus. So WHO will provide the knowledgeable support?

Based on the current support for the included mobile charger, and the 48 amp Ford Connected Charge Station, that's a big consideration. People with Mach-Es aren't and Ford-branded charge stations aren't happy right now if they have issues.

Also consider your data and reporting needs. FordPass is not reliable for tracking data, and when it misses data, it's missed for good.

I use this adapter to the 240 charger on the Mach E. It'll pump 200 miles overnight. The house already had the dryer 240 outlet in the garage. It comes with a 110 plug and 240 you insert into the charger.

Is that included with the Ford charger or did you find it somewhere else? Does not having a ground on the NEMA 14-50R side cause a problem?

Just remember the Lightning battery is substantially bigger so you're not going to get the same 200 miles.
