In the auto trader study, there is about 5-15 days gap from Built to Delivered, very dependent on locations of delivery

That seems quick. Do Ford dealers typically make you sign the paper when the truck is in route or do you do everything when the truck physically arrives? First time Ford ordering experience.

After it arrives and final pre-delivery preparations are complete!
Personally, I would want to see the final product before committing site-un-seen, check with your salesman to see if accelerated work up on sales documents can start sooner if time is factor for you.

You'd think that. But I've ordered a couple vehicles before where I've signed weeks before delivery. Looking at you Rivian, BMW, Toyota. For the Lightning it wouldn't matter to me, just curious if I needed the cash sooner than later with Ford.

My build week is 6/13. I don't think I have a VIN number yet at least I am not aware that I do.

You can contact your dealer.
They have your Order # & VIN # which you need.

You'd think that. But I've ordered a couple vehicles before where I've signed weeks before delivery. Looking at you Rivian, BMW, Toyota. For the Lightning it wouldn't matter to me, just curious if I needed the cash sooner than later with Ford.

I'm in the same boat - I'd gladly sign my papers and buy this truck before it arrives. I did it with Tesla before the car ever shipped. It will become more common place if the purchasing models moves online.

It would remove the game players that just shop and haggle and then move on. Move the model to here is a picture of it. Here is our test mule for a drive. Do you want it or not - if you do, click a few buttons, we'll deliver it in a few weeks.

Ford and the dealers would stand up to fix anything wrong.

I'd like to get my loan solidified at my current rate and would be glad to do so to have .5 % or more.

My build week, we are deficient on activity .. Anyone have an insider working @ Ford taking pics of our builds going to the line?


The only new information I got was in my weekly ouija board group, I had a chance to converse with Chris Farely; he let me know he was haunting Jim the other day and he saw on his screen that build week 6/16 had all their chips and were going to be shipped out immediately after being built.

You all can resume activity when the 5/23 week gets our chips retrofitted.

However you are likely right - you all will get chips right on the assembly line and have your trucks before the majority of us from the 3 weeks prior to you.
