What’s the deal with this physical key?

I understand, but why? Maybe for my gun...

Like almost any lock, they only keep the honest, lazy, or time-pressed out.

But, sometimes you might have people inside your truck, but still not want them inside-inside your truck. (Sometimes those people are called children, other times co-workers, etc.)

Other times, I might leave my doors unlocked to run in the store, or in the garage overnight, and it means that opportunistic thieves with only a moment of bravery won’t be getting at my other things in any hurry.

I got that little "tailgate delete" in my glovebox, as well. No clue what it does but apparently the owner's manual describes its use.

It's funny that they misspelled 'for' as 'ford' on the label.

Speaking of finding stuff - if anyone is looking for your pro-backup trailer stickers.. it's in plastic shrink-wrap in the glove box. It's in with an instruction manual for how to set it up.

Did you guys get the twist lock to blade plug adapter? I don't think I have that but I need to check a bit more. Wasn't there supposed to be a Tesla adapter, too? Or was that just in a few trucks for a news story?

My understanding of that key: It is meant to go in a drawer/to be stored away, not put on any keyring (which is why it is missing the hole). It is your 'master' so that you can use it to get copies of the physical key made. As some have stated, the one in the key-fob is for 'daily use'.

The shape of the head is because it is necessary for holding it on some key-copying machines.

Alex on Autos just got his Lightning and he had the twistlok and Tesla adapter. I don’t care about the Tesla one but the twistlok adapter is almost a necessity to use the 30A pro power outlet.
