Well I got the call yesterday. I'm registered to order a Lightning Platinum so when Earnhardt Ford got a "Dealer Order" one in they called to let me know they had one and I was next in line to be eligible to buy it. Price? $150,000.... $60,000 Dealer Markup? No thanks.

Is the markup on your online reservation ?

If not, they will face a huge backlash from Ford.

You will want to contact Ford corporate and report this.

The other solution is to move your reservation to another dealer before you place an order.

Again, Ford will help you move the reservation.

Earnhardt had always been terrible to their customers..... And that ain't no bull

I don't understand how dealers get trucks ahead of customers who registered to purchase F150s over a year ago, but I would have been happy to purchase this dealer order truck if they would price it reasonably.

dealers are getting stock that can be sold immediately. I have only seen Lariat SR. Most of the dealers near me are getting them.

I think the solution to your confusion is realizing that dealers are Ford’s “customer”

If I buy a Spalding basketball at Wal-Mart, Spalding is most concerned about how Wal-Mart feels about it’s product offering.

Obviously the analogy isn’t perfect but gets at the point.

The spectacle of the online configuration lends an unwarranted sense that a person is ordering from Ford.

Yes, that's my Mach E no ADM which I am still waiting for....

I had called 6 Ford dealers on day 1 of launch (5/19) asking questions like ADM and allocations.

Found a dealer further away that had a high volume, high past allocations, and no ADM.

That cost me a whole day calling around but chose my dealer 2 counties away for a day 2 reservation (5/20).

Had I chosen one of 5 other closer dealers, I would have paid ADM and may not have received an invite because they only received between 2-9 Lightning allocations.

My dealer received 50 Lightning allocations out of 800+ reservations.

Lightning delivered last month.

Got a Rivian coming in soon so got a trade in quote as I decide what to do. Dealer offered me $95k for my Lariat with 3k miles. Honestly seems pretty fair to me. Their franchise has a couple used ones at other location listed closer to $115k, but sure they would take the first serious offer over $100k.

You’re talking apples and oranges. This is not a customer order. This is dealer stock being shipped in. They can’t pick a dealer and the price for their order.
