I’m on Cape Cod, I’m paying 34.1 cents per kWh for standard residential service. There is no tiered service available here for reduced rates overnight. I was paying much less in AZ when I left a couple years ago. What is everyone else paying at home?

Based on the seemingly high price of electricity, it doesn’t appear that I’m really saving much money vs my 1500 ecodiesel pickup. I’ve driven 1020.8 miles at 2.3 kWh average according to the truck, so with my home energy rate of $.341 443.8 kWh works out to $151.34. My 1500 diesel averages about 27 mpg, so at $4.89 per gallon of diesel that works out to 835.62 miles for the same cost. There was an article today about National Grid asking state regulators to increase rates by 64% starting in November 2022. If my electric rates go up to 55.9 cents per kWh the diesel truck will win out until diesel prices are $6.56 per gallon. With OPEC cutting production by 2 million barrels per day we might get there.

I have solar which covers 85-90% of my yearly usage, 0.11 for the rest.

I am on a tiered rate (Wisconsin public service) depending on time of day.... until my solar gets installed. When my Charge Station Pro is installed, I'd be able to charge entirely at $0.06408/kWh... but by then I'll probably have the Solar installed.

Peak tier - $0.256/kWh
Mid Tier -$0.11118/kWh
Low Tier - $0.06408/kWh

Green mountain power customer. 0.18743 from 1pm to 9pm m-f. This is the regular rate, though it will go up by 3 percent in a month. 0.14526 with their provided evse 9pm to 1pm m-f and weekends. We also have net metered solar. We will pay this year because our solar install was in mid August and we don't have the bank of credit from the summer. Our net metering here gives credit at about 0.01 per kWh less than retail on all unused power so that the credits are for $$, not for kWh. Unused credits expire after 1 year. So I can charge at 7kw on the EVSEs from the utility with a 0.04 discount during the not very limited hours or full price on my yet to be delivered/installed fcsp. The fcsp will only be used for faster charging when needed or possibly more frequently in the future once be we have adequate net metering credits.

I pay $0.09 for 0-1000 Kw then $0.06 over 1000Kw October- May then $0.12 for summer. Solar with 87% offset being installed soon. Our rates are low enough solar was a tough sell.... but i think in the long run it will be worth it.

Mine has been going up fast lately. From $0.13 to almost $0.20 per kWhr. We have solar, but could only fit a 2kw system on our roof so it doesn't offset much. I just signed up for community solar for the balance which is supposed to save 10% off of the supply charge.

.125/kwh base rate and .21/kwh rate when I go over a certain allotment. I also have solar so I never go into the higher rate. No time of use. Anaheim, California.

I need to do a consultation with the solar installer. Unfortunately I’ll need to replace the roof before I could install, it’s in decent shape but the house is 23 years old.

My house was 115 years old when they did my install which is why they said only my newer addition (about 6 years old at the time) could take some panels.

As long as you have 2x6 rafters you should be fine. Mine are rough cut 2x4.

2.8 cents from midnight to 6am. But with the "fuel cost surcharge" about 7 cents.

I’m thinking more age of the shingles than the strength of the trusses. I spoke to a friend of a friend who does solar for a living, he said the pricing and package from Tesla was a good deal if you could actually get them to show up and install it. I’m going to make an appointment with him to see what my options are. I also saw a Costco 10% back promotion for everyone’s favorite company, Sunrun.
