I think the 12" screen, when using the cameras, has better resolution too.
Yep the funny thing is the 12" screen has more physical (and virtual) pixel width than the 15". The 15" is also less pixel dense everywhere so everything is a little less crisp than on the 12".

And then the 360 camera works much better side-by-side instead of vertical. The overlay of the f150 is comically squashed compared to on the 12". Plus, on mine (and every demo I've seen of the 360 on the 15"), the cameras are badly misaligned and could be a result of forcing the f150's aspect ratio to the Mach-E's.

except watching movies while charging would be nice…. But it is the wrong orientation for that.
That would at least give the big screen a purpose but with everyone having a personal movie screen in their pocket it’s not really necessary. If i’m sitting at a dcfc i’d probably be on my phone even if i could put videos on the screen.

I completely agree regarding the temp and fan controls. This could be easily fixed with a software update, hopefully @Ford Motor Company is listening. There was another thread on this a couple of months ago:

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...are-horrible-and-dangerous.11896/#post-249868

People suggested using voice control for setting fan speed, which would be a good idea except the voice prompt only controls temp, not fan. Would be great to have voice control for fan speed and for camera.

Glad someone else said it, to be honest, I haven't tried the voice commands either, should give it a try because changing focus to the 15" is dangerous at any speed, my wife noticed me fumbling for the temp & fan adjustments on our Sunday road trip, while doing this I was veering out of the lane.

BTW, the Mrs. hates when I use Blue Cruise on the highway, too much lane searching making me look like I'm drunk driving, if I had it on I could more confidently glance down/over for an extra few seconds searching the sync screens to make adjustments.

So, enhancing Sync voice commands to add more functionality would be the best solution.

Hoping they add this for you 15" guys. +1 for awareness. I press the physical camera button above my 12" screen nearly every single time I park. Just makes it so much easier manually turning the camera on and off having a button.

A verified Ford lightning engineer participated in a Reddit ask-me-anything a week or so back and this question came up. The camera button issue was acknowledged and the suggestion was that the engineering team is actively looking into it and so it may well feature in a future update. The engineer indicated that the team are actively looking into improving the Sync4A experience in general. So stay tuned!

I had one of the early 360 cameras in my 2015 MB GL, and even that had the ability to assign the camera to a physical button on the center console. Agree in a truck this big that it is very valuable not just in reverse, and should be something that can be easily selected in one button instead of two.

The best alternative is to briefly shift to reverse enabling the backup camera with the 360 view at the top of the screen. Be sure the rear camera delay is on, and the camera view will be persistent as long as you stay below 5 MPH or shift to P.
I tried this with the delay setting on and the back up camera feed still disappears once I take it out of reverse.

Ford has to do something about the GUI on the 15" screen. There is so much real estate on the screen there is no reason there isn't a row of icons that address some of the more often needed functions. Even make it customizable. Let me select the 5 to 8 items I want access to across the top of my screen.
Agree. The change is very easy for Ford with a software update... there should be always-on "hard" buttons at the base of the screen to include (in addition to camera) ac air fan speed change (up/down/off buttons) and seat ventilation with one button that cycles through the off/low/med/high. It is ridiculous that I cannot turn off the fan without having to peck at the screen and pray I hit the right button again to turn the fan off. There is also often (hit or miss) a very long delay between presses which forces me to look down at the screen and wait and then look back up to make sure I'm driving safe and then look back down to see if the new "off" button has finally loaded. This is clearly unsafe. I definitely don't want to have to talk to my truck with voice commands to do something as simple as turn the air off. There are certain things in life we don't ever want voice commands to control. The fan speed in a vehicle is one of them.

My ultimate wish is that the volume knob could also change the air speed/temp by pressing a button to designate what it is you want the knob to change (ac air speed, temp, or volume). Basically the same knob will control various things instead of just volume. For me I would have the knob permanently control the ac air speed because I can control volume on steering wheel and the temp button currently works fine (up or down).

Ultimately this isn't a "convenience" issue. I firmly believe this is a huge safety issue and Ford needs to do something about it.

I’m surprised. That’s not how my Mach-E or the Lightning FCSP loaner I drove work.

If I could have optioned my Lariat ER any way I could, I would have chose the 12" dash, 18" wheels and tires, no moonroof and the B&O Unleashed system.
EXACTLY the way I would have liked my Lariat to be configured!

This reminds me of the Sync X argument in my 2012-ish Edge.
I loved that almost everything was on the touch screen.
It was well laid out.
Apparently a bunch of people complained there were very few physical buttons, and the next version of the Edge/Sync we backwards.
I guess you just can't please everyone.

I don't know that we need physical buttons, we just need to take better advantage of the screen real estate. theres no reason for me to have to open a menu to select vent settings, let alone to see what my vent settings are.

same with:

switching to different drive modes, easily with 1 button press
consistent plus/minus buttons for all havoc settings
controlling rear heated seats
one button to open or close all windows and the sunroof

I don't think thats asking too much for a 15" screen

agree, customizing the screen layout should be a standard thing.
