Hi everyone, first post, please go easy on me, doing my best to search and read prior to my questions
First up, Pro Charging Station installation

First up, Pro Charging Station installation
- I have a 2023 Lariat Extended Range coming in the next 2-3 weeks
- Long story, but I want to run a 50 AMP circuit out to my side yard driveway
- I don't want to run the full 80 amp circuit for a variety of reasons , we may redevelop the land in the coming years, so I am not building for long lifespan
- From all my research it appears (please tell me where i have this wrong)
- The Ford Charging Station Pro can work with 50 amps, and you can dial it down, and this is safe and ok (no melted outlet boxes and wiring)
- I should get a 6 gauge wire for this - something like this
- I should install a 60 AMP circuit breaker to allow for the 50 AMP + headroom
- This one is easier as the panel is 8 inches from where we want to install the Nema 14-50 outlet
- We want to make this easily usable for a variety of folks who have "mobile chargers"
- I am assuming we just install the Nema 14-50 outlet, use a 6 gauge wire, use the 60 amp breaker and we are good to go
Thanks from Seattle,
