riiiiiiight?!Software updates should not be this difficult.
I'm all for being an early adopter, but don't gaslight yourself and others into acceptance of an unacceptable situation. Ford has years of experience with OTA updates and the Sync 4 platform across both ICE and EV models - we're now over two years into releases of 'Power-Ups'. They've had ample time to figure this out.It sucks that he has problems but everyone has to accept that these MY22-23 truck are new to Ford, new to us. There will be bugs Ford has to iron out.
If you're uncomfortable with being a test case, perhaps being an early adopter is not right for you
@Ford Motor Company has effectively admitted failure of this with the fact they're referring people to dealerships to manually apply software updates.
This isn't about tolerance of early adoption. This is about them taking too long to figure out the basics. And I'd apply this logic to everything related to these trucks, or technically we'd be talking about everyone that buys a new generation of a product an 'early adopter'. Would that be appropriate for the new-gen ICE F-150? The 2024 ICE Mustang? The next Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPhone? Nope.
I like this truck, don't get me wrong. But I - and everyone that bought one - spent good money on a product from an established brand, and it is absolutely fair to expect a baseline of performance in every area. I'd be complaining like this if the panel gaps and overall fit-and-finish were below my expectations. We should all be vocal about where we experience shortfalls in product, or we're losing a feedback loop that helps resolve those shortfalls. And that least to product managers not looking out for that feedback. Which leads to steaming crap like MyFord Touch/Sync 2.
