This is amazing help, thank you so much. I just purchased the HIS bundle on AEE and have an electrician lined up to install as sunrun has not worked out.

Edit: @yed19 I see it's been a while since sunrun said it should be active for you. Has nothing changed this week?
Correct. Not yet. I am just waiting I think on SunRun to probably feed my equipment serial numbers to Ford via some data feed at some point.

I called into SunRun Customer Care (1-844-809-4320) and stated that I was calling in to register my Home Integration System for my Ford F-150 Lightning. The customer care representative transferred me to the SunRun Ford Customer Care team. The SunRun Ford Customer Care representative requested the VIN for my F-150 Lightning and then requested my contact information. I then was then transferred to my "assigned specialist", which was a SunRun Solar sales representative to leave a voicemail. I emailed her instead and after some correspondence, I was advised that she couldn’t assist due to liability.

I called back into SunRun Customer Care (1-844-809-4320) and provided the details of my experience thus far and stated that I was calling to register my Home Integration System for my Ford F150 Lightning. The customer care representative transferred me to the SunRun Ford Customer Care team. The SunRun Ford Customer Care representative collected my name and address and then put me on a brief hold while she collected the necessary documentation to register my system. When she returned, she re-validated my address, collected my phone number and e-mail address and then requested the serial numbers of the Home Integration System inverter and the Ford Charge Station Pro. After collecting this information, she said that my system would be registered and that I should expect to receive a notification in the Ford Pass app and/or an e-mail by the week of January 15th confirming that my system had been registered.

Fingers crossed! I hope this helps!

After waiting an extra two weeks, the system still isn't showing up in the FordPass application. I called back into SunRun Customer Care (1-844-809-4320) and provided the reason for the call. I was transferred to the Ford department as expected. After discussing the issue yet again, I was provided a new "direct" number (1-800-777-6609) to call and finalize the installation of the Home Integration System with them. After numerous calls and going through the previous steps with the representative, the representative informed me the vehicle VIN still wasn't registered to me as the owner. After 30 minutes into the call, the representative was able to find my previous call history. He asked if I received the registration notification in the application, which I haven't. After reviewing the notes further and his procedures, he is attempting to re-register my system. He advised that my system service contract was showing as cancelled and he didn't understand why. He advised that I should receive a notification from the FordPass app within the next 1-2 weeks (like before) informing me that my system has been registered.

Let me know what you learn. I am in a similar situation - Check marks 1 & 3 are complete, but check mark 2 is not. However, as a test, I connected the charging cable and killed power to the house. The automatic transfer did occur (it took about 10 seconds) and the truck powered my home flawlessly. I ran my entire home for a few hours and then restored power to the house and the system returned to normal operation. My only concern: I never received a notice on my app that I was running on back-up power.
Update: I just received this from SunRun (months after install) Hoping it will complete step 2:)

Thank you for purchasing a Sunrun Home Integration System. You are one step closer to accessing the capabilities of Ford Intelligent Backup Power!

The Installer will confirm when they are finished installing the Home Integration System & Ford Charge Station Pro. Once done, there is one more thing you need to do to register your new system to the FordPass app:
  • Call (844) 809-4320 and let us know that you're ready to register your system to the FordPass app
Once that processes, you will see a green checkmark on step two of the “System Readiness Check” in your FordPass app. This checkmark will take several weeks to appear, but we need to load the information in now to get that ready for you.

Please reach out if you have any questions. You can reply directly to this email or call us at (844) 809-4320.

Thank you for choosing Sunrun and Ford!

Best,
Sunrun Customer Care

That's awesome! Can't wait to find out how it goes in a couple weeks!

Is this something they expected you to do before ever installing it? Maybe I should do it now while waiting to install mine.

The system will operate, you just won’t have the functionality of the FordPass app. I haven’t met anyone yet that has been successful at this portion of the installation.

I have the impression that it can't be done until its installed.

It might be worth a try. You will need the VIN of the F150, Charger Station ID, and the serial number of the BDI. The BDI ships with two serial numbers, so it will be the the top one on the manufactures specification label. This information combined with your personal information is all that you should need to register the system. I hope you have better luck then I have.

Just set it up with them. Thank you for that phone number. They needed S/N's for the FCSP and the inverter, that's it. Should take a couple weeks.

They said the same thing to me… turns out it’s been 4 weeks since they took our s/n’s and still does not work.

I’d call back in, they messed up my last registration with zero follow-up.

Is the Fordpass app working now for you? Can you share a screen? I have not heard of anyone where it is working
