Old habits must be hard to break.

Took my Lightning into the dealership today to get it checked for the wiper motor recall plus the active air dam messages I keep getting. The service advisor asked if I needed an oil change. I let him off the hook by laughing and asking if he could check the plugs too. I think as soon as he asked he realized it was the Lightning.

To give him a break my Lightning is the only one my dealer has sold yet.

Two people at my dealer asked about an oil change. But at least nobody asked when I had to bring it back two days later when the parts were supposed to be there, or when they called to say it wouldn’t be ready until the next day when the rest (probably all) of the parts arrived.

We will see if they ask today when they come to pick up the truck (to actually do the work).

Next time I will ask them to check the Flux Capacitor and see if they can do anything about the dilithium crystal buildup on the Hyperdrive.

When I went in to argue it the salesperson even laughed when I told him that was pretty steep for wiper and cabin air filters to be changed, but still said everyone has to pay it. If these guys are gonna be selling more EV's they need to get the service side figured out!

When I went in to argue it the salesperson even laughed when I told him that was pretty steep for wiper and cabin air filters to be changed, but still said everyone has to pay it. If these guys are gonna be selling more EV's they need to get the service side figured out!

Maybe when you get to 50,000 miles on your Lightning, bring it in as ask for the battery juice fluid flush and replacement.

You could always ask them to change your turn signal fluid instead of the oil.

PSA: Check your muffler bearings. I had one seize up and it required a tow.

To be fair, the drive motors do have gear oil that should be changed at set intervals, but obviously the intervals are way longer than a gas engine.

That's egregious enough that I'd be contacting the local authorities (state AG, consumer protection orgs within state, etc.) over that fraudulent service charge.
