To my eyes the classic look of the production truck appeals way more than that 'squished' looking concept. A bit too much going on on the hood, otherwise I like it.

The production version: I'm not a fan of that aero style front end. The concept truck was much more aggressive and futuristic looking. This honestly gives me Honda Ridgeline vibes with the big chin and sloped hood. I know it's necessary for range, but I've never been a fan. It lacks a lot of the impression ICE RAMs give me, with the aggressive styling. Small thing, but definitely first thing I noticed.

I like this a lot better than the Silverado Ev(aka Avalanche) tbh.

If the specs are much better may trade up from the Lightning in 2024-2025 OR wait and trade to a Gen II Lightning(2025-2026)

I do think it will be easier to ease regular ICE pickup owners to EV with a traditional design. Also think there will be a big market for the range extender option.

They copied a lot from the Lightning.

I can't wait for the specs. You can't cheat physics. They may have a larger range, but it will come at a price. Bigger batteries cost money.

Production truck looks about what I expected it to be. The concept was never going to happen. I'm actually surprised they built the mock-up. But more surprised they teased the concept and all that just weeks before showing the real production truck.

That's a tradeoff many people will take.. The Lightning works great for many use cases. EVs will need more capability to work in really cold climates, towing applications, areas geographically spread out with few chargers, etc.

EVs are politically a tough sell in the Dakotas, Wyoming etc. IN order to spur EV adoption we'll need more EVs with range and larger batteries.

I am pretty confident RAM knows they are going to have to deliver the goods if they want to compete with Silverado EV (and Lightning--either v1 or v2).

I can't see them coming into the market in late 2024 with less than 400mi range and decent charging at 800v.

Let's be honest, the Lightning was able to get by with current specs because it beat GM/RAM to market by 18-24mths. The market will demand more of future trucks...
