I was hoping this would never happen to me but unfortunately it did. My power available dropped like a rock this morning. Early in ownership I had this same issue but a quick turn on and off would put me back at 💯.

This morning no such luck. Started at 100% power availablequickly went down to 56% and then 50% all in a matter of seconds. I turned it off, got out,turned back on, went back to 100% and quickly back down to 50%. Did the same thing, this time it it went to 76% and quickly back down to 50% power available.

Truck is kept in a garage, outside temp was 55, inside the garage 62.

Ford BEV team has set me up with an appointment so we will see how it goes.

Had to check to make sure I was at 90% Battery charge

Out of curiosity, have you tried to pull up the propulsion screen to see if both motors are getting power?
Didn’t have a chance to check any screens since I had to turn around and take my ICE to get to work. I’ll check once I am home.

There were no warnings or Christmas lights. I am hoping it’s a software issue.

But you could definitely feel the lack of power. I have read other threads that say it might be the batteries trying to cool down but the temp isn’t that high compared to summer when I first had the Lightning and Pre-Conditioning has not happened for over a week.

On another note, Ford is able to remotely access my vehicle but the BEV Rep said he could not, so I’m not sure what going on with that neither.

I imagine that remote access is probably securely sandboxed to engineers and technicians, maybe not frontline CSRs.
True. I am hoping an Engineer can reach out to me lol

Taking it in on Friday, but I already know it’s going to sit for a couple of weeks before it’s even diagnosed and who knows how much longer if there is an issue. My dealer currently has 1 Lightning that has been sitting for over a month due to modules and Mach-E with 60 days at the dealer for the same thing. The Mach-E belongs to a service advisor there lol

One of the high voltage contactors to one of the motors is flaking out.

The worse part in all this is getting stuck with a beat up loaner from Enterprise …..

Wife drove it around to pick up the kids at school, no issues. Real weird. I’m cancelling the appointment and chalking it up to software or whatever. Last thing I want is my truck sitting for weeks at the dealer again.

This is super strange. I received a call last night from Ford Corporate asking me to take my vehicle in as soon as possible because of an immediate service bulletin relating to something similar to what you experienced. The rep wouldn’t give me any info on the service other than something related to the battery/ power train system.

I called my dealer to make the appointment and they had no idea what I was talking about. The lady who called me last night gave me her corporate email and phone number.

I reached out to her asking for a service bulletin letter I can share with the dealer. She said she will need to speak with them directly about this issue.

I’m now supposed to drop off the truck tomorrow and it may take up to two weeks to repair she said. She told me to send her any receipts for gasoline and she will reimburse me.


It is super weird that they are not addressing the issue. I’ll update more tomorrow.
