Where can one find a replacement painted handle. My 2022 Lariat has a bad scuff on drivers side handle, idk if I should seek a replacement handle or have a body shop fix it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
I don't think you can buy replacement handles that are painted, only primed. It would probably be cheaper to have the body shop handle it, unless you want to go the route of putting one of those stick on handles on it

From looking at the harnesses, there is a difference between the passenger side and drivers side one so it wouldn't work to just use another drivers side harness for the passenger side. At minimum, the power window switch is different. I'm going to see if Varsity Ford can tell me what harness is needed to complete it.

go to any real paint store or an online one give them your paint code and order a rattle can of 2 part color matched paint. pop the tab on the bottom of the can after you prep the handle aka sand the hell out of it with super fine paper. Shake and cote it. Also order some clear coat if they do not have a all in one paint that includes clear. Sand and buff the clear. You can find out the details on youtube.

Or give a body shop your handle and color code and pay them to do it.

Just incase anyone else is looking to do the passenger side, according to Varsity Ford the correct part number is NL3Z-14630-G. I'm going to order it and I'll let everyone know when it arrives.

Has anyone had luck getting through to Forscan support the last couple weeks?

I bought the extended license and asked for the 2.4 download. Got a quick response with the link to accept the risk and what not. But haven’t heard back after three emails as far back as 6/29.
Or if anyone wants to DM me the link it would be appreciated. Everything is installed and wanting to do the firmware before my trip in 2 days.

I updated the original DIY with the link.

I can confirm that the cover from Bronco handle M2DZ-7822405-CB is swappable with the cover from F-150 handle ML3Z-1522405-DCPTM.

So, now, I have a paint-to-match Bronco intelligent access handle burning a hole in my pocket. Anyone have instructions on how to add intelligent access to a Bronco?

Jesse with infotainment was doing it when he helped me with this DIY. Thanks for confirming the bronco physical match. I'd love to see a few pics of the sensor module from the bronco, I assume the connector is keyed different.

The connector on the Bronco handle looks the same, but a different color and with only two wires.

LOL, CA is a bit far for me, but I'm happy to help with advice.

You don't need a dealer if you just order the two parts I listed. So what if you don't use a few of the connectors, just zip tie them out of the way inside the door. Go for it, be the first Pro owner to try it. You can start by checking your C511 Female plug to make sure you have the ANT wires from the door jamb to the BCM.

hi! I hope that offer to help still stands lol. I have the door off, and the new button installed. I now have a couple questions:

1. I have the door panel off but the inner and outer steel doors are together still. Am I supposed to take that apart somehow? I watched the YouTube you posted and it was just the door panel.

2. where is the part you dremel “in the door” after the button?

3. The harness I got from the parts list is more than just the door jamb side. Do I use all of it or just the short piece from door to vehicle door jamb?

4. How do you connect and feed the wire from the door to the harness?

5. I did a really really shitty job with the dremel. Do you know if the abs handles are available alone so I can retry?

Here’s where I’m at:

There is a bolt you take loose at the bottom of the window track when fishing out/in that port of the harness, You need to take off the plastic and the speaker you will need to reach in lots of the access holes.

2. where is the part you dremel “in the door” after the button?

You reach it by putting the entire dremel/drill inside the door through one of the access holes. It is part of the plastic frame where the door handle connector pokes through and pivots.

3. The harness I got from the parts list is more than just the door jamb side. Do I use all of it or just the short piece from door to vehicle door jamb?

You used the entire door harness as is, You are replacing the factory door harness. Yes it's a lot of connectors and yes it is a lot of work.

4. How do you connect and feed the wire from the door to the harness?

Getting the door jamb connectors, unsnapped and unhooked is the hardest part and there are many tips/pics here in this thread past.

5. I did a really really shitty job with the dremel. Do you know if the abs handles are available alone so I can retry?

My God, did you do that with a army swiss knife 🤣🤣🤣. Others have recently confirmed the bronco door handle shells do work (part numbers in this thread). Or for 35$ you can try again with the factory textured ABS handle.

This mod is not easy, but stay at it and you will get it.

hahhaaha! Thank you so much for the answers. I so appreciate it.

Just confirming-the “plastic” you say to remove is the semi-transparent plastic film that is held by the black rubber glue. Is that right? That plus the speaker provides the primary access?

I’ll finish tomorrow.

my problem with the dremel was two-fold. 1. I’m terrible with it. 2. I did not have the right bit. I had to start with a drill then use the tapered grinder. It was really, really challenging to chamfer the inside enough to get the lock/unlock for the new parts to fit. To get the angle I kept hitting the collet onto the plastic and that slight touch was enough to mar it. After the first two mistakes I realized “fuck it, imma get a new one and try again” and stopped caring haha.

you wouldn’t happen to know the part number for the stock abs handle cover to try again is would you? No worries if not. I’m sure I could search enough to find it.

thank you again

Correct the clear plastic sheet, if you are careful the black adhesive comes off with it and will go right back on just like factory.

Yes I have the part number and I have a spare I might be willing to just do for you.

Definitely need the speaker hole for routing the harness. But I think you grind out the little black plastic rib from the bigger hole in the middle.

Take your time with all the electrical connectors and understand them before you put too much pressure, some are in hard places.
