Buyer beware. There is nothing in that listing that says it's a licensed Tesla product. And I would think Tesla would have some way to authenticate the adaptor as to not damage their charger.

Won't work until Tesla allows non-Tesla's to charge at non-MagicDock equipped stations.

I own a Lectron adapter and it got plenty hot at 240V/48A. I’m sure this is beefed up but I’d be cautious using this on a supercharger. The amperage we’re dealing with while DCFC is no joke…

Its passive, so there is no electronics in that thing, since NACS is just CCS in a different form factor.

I won't believe Tesla is just going to use hunk of plastic and copper until I see what they approve. Elon is a control freak. No way he let's just any old adaptor be used.

there is nothing mentioned about how you'd initiate or pay for it through Tesla. Ford has inked a deal with them to do just that. I'm not aware of any other manufacturers that have. (correct me if I'm wrong)
You cannot charge a non-Telsa, today, at any station that doesn't have Magic Dock, and initiation has to be done through the Tesla app. Ford's deal will allow FordPass and Plug and Charge to be used.

There are been a large number of manufacturers that have announced deals after Ford. GM, Honda, Volvo, Hyundai, Rivian, Mercedes-Benz, ...

No. They established charging agreements starting next year. They may ALSO be changing over in 2025, but they're opening charging in 2024.

The one I bought also stated 48A , yet it got hot enough to trigger the temperature shut off on my Tesla wall connector.

As far as I’m aware none of Lectrons adapters are UL listed or UL certified either.

As far as I’m aware none of Lectrons adapters are UL listed or UL certified either.
That's why the Lightning requires an adapter rated for 80amps continuous, not 48. And the Lectron 48s isn't the same as the Tesla Tap Mini, which I bought for my Mach-E, which is rated for 60amps.

As a result, I have my Tesla Tap mini up for sale, and I bought a Stellar plug from A2Z for both vehicles. Currently $111.00. Use coupon SAVE15%A2ZEV to save 15%, bringing it down to $94.35 (I paid more...).

I own a Teslatap 80A too which has been flawless.

The Lectron first triggered my HPWC on my R1T which is only 48A capable. Thinking it was my wall charger I switched to my secondary, same issue.

When I got my Lightning I turned the HPWC settings down to 48A and tried it again. That’s when I finally relented and bought the Teslatap.

There’s a good bunch of us on Rivian forums who have found the Lectron to overheat some claim it was too hot to even touch but mine never got to that point as the HPWC should shut off. Other folks say to just turn it down even more, which should reduce heat as well.

Theyre just not as well made as the Teslatap. I tried to save some money and unfortunately this time it showed.
