Hey Crew
Yesterday I bought a used Lighting from a Toyota dealer. They said they talked to the owner and the ford shop and were told the pro charger had never been claimed. Would I call my local dealer or ford directly to try a claim the pro charger?
Thanks in advance !

First, is the truck an extended range? Only those include the charge station.
Second, there is no “claiming” the station. It gets shipped out automatically when the dealer marks the truck as “sold” in the Ford system.
Unless you really need to charge at 19 KW and have the capacity to do so, there are better options out there.

It doesn't always get sent out, I had to fight to get mine sent out. Call the SunRun support number on Ford's website. They'll ask for name and VIN. At a minimum, they can tell you if the charge station was already sent out for that VIN. If it wasn't, you may need to have a Ford dealer send them a form that authorizes SunRun to send it, since your name may not match what shows in SunRun's database.

People post the chargers they don't want on here all the time. Look through the for sale threads. Also, if you can't wire for 80 amps, there are cheaper 40 amp or less chargers you can get. Also check with your power company. Mine offers EV chargers for about 50% off retail price.

I am still waiting on my charger to arrive. Sunrun seems to be overwhelmed and unorganized. I called last week to confirm the charger that was included with the purchase of my 2023 Lightening and they confirmed it was ready to ship. Seven days later I called to get tracking info and they said it never shipped. The warehouse is overwhelmed, they are back ordered and have no timeline to ship the charger. This is just one of the things I was told at the Ford Dealership that has not worked out. My advice would be to get a charger from someone other than SunRun because you will wait months for it.

I shouldn't have clicked onto this thread. It triggered PTSD from my experience trying to get the the charger that was supposed to be included with the fourth most expensive thing I've ever purchased (the top three were homes). Good luck dealing with Ford/Sunrun and may God have mercy on your soul.🥺

I know there were big hassles getting the FCSPs from SunRun last year, but I took delivery of my truck in January of this year and my FCSP magically showed up about 10 days later via FedEx. I didn’t have to do anything.

I must say I had the same experience as @Maquis in April of this year. However, after being installed for a few months now I’m only getting way less than the full charge level it was putting out. Looks more like 38-40amps.

So far it hasn’t been an issue for charging based on my utilization so I have avoided contacting SunRun or FoMoCo.

Good luck!

Unless you’re seeing an amber light on the FCSP, the rate is likely being throttled by the truck. It almost sounds like one of the two onboard chargers isn’t working.

@The Weatherman what is your charging SOC goal while charging, as you're observing slow throughput? Remember that 90-100% creeps along

Yeah, no amber lights. The charger is showing normal blinking blue during charge. I have wondered the same thing since the truck controls the input.

I’m hoping to locate another 80AMP FSCP locally, but the one other Lightning I know is local is a SR. Thought that would tell me if it is the truck or the charger.

@TaxmanHog , @Maquis : The other thing about my FCSP is it not on WiFi, so it has never seen a software update since installing back in April.

I’m charging from 50% back to 90%. I start each day 90%.
That should be running maximum to 94% of maximum rate setting, based on my experiences.

My FCSP set at 80 amps, one would expect 19.2KW @ 240v, but the reality is that I'm averaging 18KW

How many hours / minutes does that take for a typical daily recharge?
We could compute average throughput !
